Bristol Classic Rum Foursquare 2004-2016. Another rum from the Foursquare Distillery, Barbados. This is the first Independent bottling I have reviewed for a while. Mainly due to the distillery themselves, being so prolific recently. With so many unique and interesting rums coming from the distilleries own cannon, I haven’t felt the need to review or purchase much from independent bottlers of late.

Hampden Estate Overproof Rum. Rum enthusiasts should need little introduction to the Jamaican Rum Funk that is delivered by Hampden Estate, Trelawny, Jamaica. For many years now those “in the know” have been seeking out Independently bottled Hampden rum.

Admiral Rodney Saint Lucia Rum HMS Formidable. As you may have guessed from the title this new edition to the Admiral Rodney line up is the “top of the range bottling”. Jamaica Cove Black Pineapple Rum. This is the second of the Jamaica Cove rums that I have for review.
Jamaica Cove takes its name from the caves and coves dotted around the Cornish Coast of Southern England. Used by smugglers to hide their booty of rum from British Colonies such as Jamaica.
In recent years Plantation Rum have made Pineapple Rum a thing, with their Dicken’s inspired “Stiggins’ Fancy” pineapple flavoured rum.
Admiral’s Old J Cherry Spiced. Admiral’s Old J or simply Old J as it is more commonly known, is a brand of Spiced Rum popular in the UK. It was introduced initially to fill the “void”, when Sailor Jerry changed their popular UK “formula” to the one more widely available, to the US market and beyond. Hence the Old J – though they never mention a Jerry.
