Foursquare Rum Distillery Destino Velier 70th Anniversay Release. This was released in 2017 as part of the Velier “Drop by Drop” anniversary series. At the time of release this was limited to just 500 bottles.
We are currently awaiting the “general” release of Foursquare Rum Distillery Destino. The Warren Khong artwork used in these 500 bottles was exclusive to the Velier release. The release of Destino we currently await will be feature the more standard Velier artwork.
Appleton Estate 15 Year Old Rum. Don’t get too excited about this. I have some bad news. Currently unless you are in Canada – you will struggle to find a bottle of this. As it is an exclusive release for Canada. Which on the face of it seems a bit of an odd decision but odd things do often happen in the world of rum.
Doctor Bird Jamaica Rum. All the way from the US of A strangely enough. I’ve been fortunate enough to get my hands on a very decent sized sample of this particular rum.
Doctor Bird Jamaica Rum has been causing quite a stir over the other side of the pond. Alongside some Hampden offerings from Stolen (another US Brand), they have given the American’s a couple of rums that us European’s are actually quite envious of.
Rathlee Distilling Co Golden Barrel Aged Rum Aged 3 Years. Rathlee Distilling Co are the brainchild of husb
and and wife team Stuart and Paolo Leather. Formed in 2012 they originally released their rum under the Revolver rum brand.
Originally Revolver rum was a blend of rums aged around 18 months to 2 years. They have since been able to further age their stocks in Cornwall. Now the rum is aged for a minimum of 3 years. 2 Years of this is aged in Latin America and a further year here in the UK. It is a column distilled rum.
Kill Devil Jamaica Hampden Distillery Aged 16 Years – The Whisky Barrel Exclusive. The world of Scotch Whisky seems to have partly fallen in love with Jamaican rum. Some whisky commentators still find them a little “too much”. In particular bottlings from the Hampden Distillery, Trelawny seem to really split opinion.
S.B.S – Single Barrel Selection Barbados 2008 Marsala Cask. Single Barrel Selection is part of the 1423 groups output. Formed in 2008 1423 are based in Denmark and are headed up by co-owners Thomas Vogensen, Parminder S Bhatia and Joshua Singh.
1423 seek out single casks of rum and also bottle blends of rum in their Companera range. Their range has recently become more prominent in the UK thanks to Skylark Spirits who are importing the 1423 rums into the UK. Rhum Depaz Rhum Vieux Agricole Hors D’Age Port Cask Finish. Rhum Depaz are an Agricole Rhum producer from the French West Indies.
More specifically they hail from the island of Martinique. Rhum Agricole from Martinque can be produced in line with the AOC. The AOC – Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) is the French equivalent to EU’s Protected Designation of Origin (PDO).
