Dzama Rhum Vieux Aged 3 Years. Dzama are a brand of rums from Madagascar, pronounced “Zama” it was founded in 1980 by Lucien Fohine. Groupe Vidzar is the controlling company. Domestically it accounts for around 60% of all rum sales and operates out of the countries capital Anatananarivo. (You learn quite a bit researching rum)

Old Jamaique Long Pond 1977. A rum older than me – just. From the Long Pond Distillery in Jamaica. A distillery which I have become increasingly interested in, over the past year or so.
Old Jamaique is a collaboration between Scottish bottling giant Ian MacLeod and the Belgian Independent bottler Corman-Collins.
Bacardi Reserva Limitada has long been Bacardi’s most “Premium” offering. As seems to be the way with “Premium” rum producers rather than do anything remotely interesting, different or innovative they tend to just re-hash the same old thing. Repeating the same things which initially gave them success. Which kind of becomes a bit boring.
Liberte Black Spiced Rum is a new entrant to the ever expanding Spiced Rum market. Liberte Black Spiced Rum is actually a supermarket “own brand”. This one hails from German discount supermarket Lidl.
It has already received a bit of coverage in the press as perhaps being an alternative to the ever Popular “The Kraken”. The Kraken pretty much has the “Dark Spiced” market sewn up. For some reason despite the ongoing popularity of Morgan’s Spiced Gold – the Captain Morgan company have done little to promote or make available their Black Spiced Rum in the UK. Despite making it pretty much a Kraken knock off in terms of appearance.

Manchester Rum Festival to host round two at Manchester Cathedral
Manchester Rum Festival, the cities only official festival of its kind for the rum category, is returning Friday 1st June 2018, heading to the iconic Manchester Cathedral.
With the 2017 launch of Manchester’s first dedicated rum festival turning out to be a sell-out success, organizer and owner Dave Marsland of Drinks Enthusiast has turned to the historic venue to house over 75 brands of rum from all over the world, a dedicated cocktail bar for classic signature serves, and the chance to purchase via local independent retailer Riddles Emporium’s on-site shop.
