Don Papa Baroko. Every now and again a bottle or sample arrives that I know is going to be good for a review but not necessarily good for me. I usually try to hide my opinion on a rum but I can imagine a good many of you have clicked, expecting the worst. Or best depending on how you see such reviews.

Ron Barceló Imperial Onyx.
One of my first “Premium” rums was a bottle of Ron Barceló Imperial that I picked up for around £12 in Gibraltar circa 2012.
At the time I was fairly pleased with it but as my experience grew I found myself less enamoured by the rum. I reviewed it back in 2017 by which time my perception had changed quite dramatically.
Don Papa Rum Sherry Casks. I’ve not reviewed any Don Papa products for a while. They aren’t a brand that I would ever buy if I’m being honest.
So when it comes to getting reviews of Don Papa, I am often relying on my friends in rum circles being gifted well meaning but sadly misguided bottles which they then “invite” me to sample and review………..
Ron de El Salvador Cihuatan Alux Limited Edition Aged 15 Years. I first reviewed a rum from Licorera Chihuatan back in 2019. It was a rather underwhelming experience with a 12 year old aged rum.
In all honesty the brand delivered pretty much what I was expecting. So whilst my experience was underwhelming, it was far from surprising.
Ron Barceló Blanco Anejado. Some might suggest I am a glutton for punishment. We closed out 2025 with a less than inspiring rum from Ron Barceló. Like that selection this bottling is another “bargain” from Amazon.
Cassario Golden Rum.
Ron Bengalo Rum from Barbados. In todays climate most people out there will be hunting for the odd rum bargain. Especially, when it comes to something to use as a casual weekend mixer.
