Habitation Velier Foursquare 2015 White Pure Single Rum review by the fat rum pirateHabitation Velier Foursquare 2015 White Pure Single Rum. This is quite a rare rum and difficult to come by. I was fortunate enough to be gifted a sample from Steve at Rum Diaries Blog, who even more fortunate to gifted a partially drank bottle at London Rumfest a couple of years ago. At the time the rum was not commercially available. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Doorly’s Aged 3 Years Fine Old Barbados Rum

Doorly's Aged 3 Years Fine Old Barbados Rum review by the fat rum pirateDoorly’s Aged 3 Years Fine Old Barbados Rum. The Doorly’s line up should need no introduction to most of you. I’ve reviewed all of their line up that I have been able to get my hands on. I’ve failed thus far to get the Sweden(?) only 6-year-old.

In all honesty I thought I had reviewed this long ago. A quick look revealed that I had completed the tasting notes but had never got around to writing and publishing the rest. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Monymusk Overproof White Rum

Monymusk Overproof White Rum Review by the fat rum pirateMonymusk Overproof White Rum. Monymusk Sugar Estate lies in the South of the island of Jamaica on the Vere Palins in the parish of Clarendon. Skotlander White Rum

Skotander White Rum Review by the fat rum pirateSkotlander White Rum. Skotlander hail from Denmark. This white rum is along with their dark rum their “standard” rum offering.

The company was founded by the Dane Anders Skotlander. Skotlander rums are distilled, aged and bottled in Denmark (and occasionally aged at sea). Anders has spent the last 10 or so years working as a film producer. Denmark actually has quite a few recognised rum enthusiasts such as Ingvar Thomsen, Johnny Drejer (of Hydrometer test fame) and Mads Heitmann of Romhatten and the author of Rom Bogen (a book about rum in Danish). Cor Cor Red – Okinawan Rum

Cor Cor Red Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCor Cor Red Okinawan Rum.  Cor Cor Red and Green first seriously caught my eye at London Rumfest 2017.  They were displaying at the Boutique Rumfest on the Friday afternoon.  A show which is designed for new rums to display their wares to the “trade”. Its the part of the weekend I personally enjoy the most. The atmosphere is a little more restrained and you get to try a lot of new rums. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

The Real McCoy Aged 3 Years

The Real McCoy Aged 3 Years Rum review by the fat rum pirate FoursquareThe Real McCoy Aged 3 Years. The Real McCoy is based around a famous prohibition era “rum runner” or “bootlegger” called Bill McCoy.

The term, now in common use “The Real McCoy” when referring to something of higher or better quality is not thought to have orginated from Bill McCoy however.  It was in use long before he came along. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
