So far they have not achieved fame for any particular bottling or style, the way the likes of Velier, Rum Nation and Bristol Classic have. Botran Ron Anejo Reserva Blanca

Botran Reserva Blanco Rum Review by the fat rum pirateBotran Ron Anejo Reserva Blanca from Casa Botran.  Botran are a rum producer from Guatemala home of course of Ron Zacapa.

The Reserva Blanca as can be seen from the photos is their white rum.  Botran Reserva Blanca is aged in lightly toasted ex-bourbon barrels before being filtered to remove the colour and produce a white rum. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Rum of the Year 2017

Cor Cor Red – Okinawan Rum

Cor Cor Red Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCor Cor Red Okinawan Rum.  Cor Cor Red and Green first seriously caught my eye at London Rumfest 2017.  They were displaying at the Boutique Rumfest on the Friday afternoon.  A show which is designed for new rums to display their wares to the “trade”. Cor Cor Green – Okinawan Rum

Cor Cor Green Okinawan Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCor Cor Green – Okinawan Rum. Cor Cor is a relatively new rum brand from Japan.  More specifically the Japanese island of South Borodino, Minamidaito, Okinawa.  I can’t say I’m familiar with the region either.  Japanese geography isn’t my strongest subject.

The company responsible for Cor Cor Green are the Grace Rum Company Ltd, formed in 2004.  Although the company is young, the tradition of growing sugar cane on the island dates back hundreds of years. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Dzama are a brand of rums from Madagascar, pronounced “Zama” it was founded in 1980 by Lucien Fohine.  Groupe Vidzar is the controlling company.
