Mount Gay Silver. The term “silver” when referring to white rum is not commonly used in releases in the UK and Europe. It seems to be a US thing. I suppose calling it silver rum makes as much sense as calling it white. It’s neither after all – clear rum if anything.

Compagnie des Indes (East India Company) Jamaica New Yarmouth 12 Year old rum. Compagnie des Indes are an independent bottler from France.
So far they have not achieved fame for any particular bottling or style, the way the likes of Velier, Rum Nation and Bristol Classic have. Though they have established a reputation for bottling an eclectic series of single casks and their own signature blends.
Botran Ron Anejo Reserva Blanca from Casa Botran. Botran are a rum producer from Guatemala home of course of Ron Zacapa.
The Reserva Blanca as can be seen from the photos is their white rum. Botran Reserva Blanca is aged in lightly toasted ex-bourbon barrels before being filtered to remove the colour and produce a white rum.
Ultimatum Rum Selected Blend. Ultimatum Rum as I was recently informed by a very kind commentator and reader of the site is “Ultimatum rum is the rum series of the Dutch importer and independent bottler van Wees who is mainly known for it’s independent whisky releases under The Ultimate label. The Ultimatum is the rum variant of that label and stands for single cask rums from a variety of regions and styles.”
Cor Cor Red Okinawan Rum. Cor Cor Red and Green first seriously caught my eye at London Rumfest 2017. They were displaying at the Boutique Rumfest on the Friday afternoon. A show which is designed for new rums to display their wares to the “trade”. Its the part of the weekend I personally enjoy the most. The atmosphere is a little more restrained and you get to try a lot of new rums.
Cor Cor Green – Okinawan Rum. Cor Cor is a relatively new rum brand from Japan. More specifically the Japanese island of South Borodino, Minamidaito, Okinawa. I can’t say I’m familiar with the region either. Japanese geography isn’t my strongest subject.
The company responsible for Cor Cor Green are the Grace Rum Company Ltd, formed in 2004. Although the company is young, the tradition of growing sugar cane on the island dates back hundreds of years.
