Ron Barceló Imperial Onyx

Ron Barceló Imperial Onyx rum review by the fat rum pirateRon Barceló Imperial Onyx.

One of my first “Premium” rums was a bottle of Ron Barceló Imperial that I picked up for around £12 in Gibraltar circa 2012.

At the time I was fairly pleased with it but as my experience grew I found myself less enamoured by the rum. I reviewed it back in 2017 by which time my perception had changed quite dramatically. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Don Papa Rum Sherry Casks

Don Papa Rum Sherry Casks review by the fat rum pirateDon Papa Rum Sherry Casks. I’ve not reviewed any Don Papa products for a while. They aren’t a brand that I would ever buy if I’m being honest.

So when it comes to getting reviews of Don Papa, I am often relying on my friends in rum circles being gifted well meaning but sadly misguided bottles which they then “invite” me to sample and review……….. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Bacardi Spiced

Bacard Spiced Rum Spirit Drink Review by the fat rum pirateBacardi Spiced. Or more accurately Bacardi Spiced Spirit Drink. As the ABV on this offering is only 35% it does not hit the minimum 37.5% EU requirement to be labelled as a rum. The UK are no longer in the EU. Langs Banana Jamaican Rum

Langs Banana Jamaican Rum review by the fat rum pirateLangs Banana Jamaican Rum. It’s been a while since we’ve reviewed anything Spiced or Flavoured. Indeed they produce two pretty popular “dark” rum expressions in Watson’s Demerara and Trawler Rum. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Ron Canuto Seleccion Superior Ron Premium 7 Anos

Ron Canuto Seleccion Superior Ron Premium 7 Anos rum review by the fat rum pirateRon Canuto Seleccion Superior Ron Premium 7 Anos. This rum has pretty much all the suspicious marketing terminology, that pretty much guarantees a no purchase for me nowadays. That said I’ve got a sample of this particular rum, so I might as well see what Ecuador, has to offer the rum world. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Siddiqui Brown Rum

Siddiqui Brown Rum rum review by the fat rum pirateSiddiqui Brown Rum. Doesn’t sound to inviting does it? There have been a lot of “objections” recently about labelling rum by its colour. Some of it has been a bit over the top, I have to say. That said “Brown” rum is a new descriptor for me in terms of actually going out there and putting it on the label. Captain Morgan Tiki Mango and Pineapple

Captain Morgan Tiki Mango and Pineapple Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCaptain Morgan Tiki Mango and Pineapple. I’m frequently asked why I continue to review and purchase such questionable products. See it as some kind of penance…..

I need to make one thing very clear from the outset – this is not rum. The Captain Morgan brand was originally focused around a “dark” navy style rum. However, it has now moved far beyond that. Rarely for the better it must be noted Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
