Jamaica Cove Black Ginger Rum. I’ve noticed a few Ginger flavoured rums appear on the market over the past couple of years. We’ve always tried on this site to help with people’s curiosity when usual or different rums appear. Especially when they are priced at the mid and lower end of the market.

Admiral Rodney Saint Lucia Rum HMS Princessa. Regular readers should by now be familiar with Saint Lucia Distillers. We have featured all their Chairman’s Reserve range as well as all 6 of their annual 1931 series. We’ve also covered their Bounty Rum and one or two independent offerings. Admiral Rodney Saint Lucia Rum was actually one of the first “Premium” rums I ever tried.
The Pink Pigeon Single Estate Mauritian Vanilla Spiced Rum. That’s quite a mouthful so for the purposes of this review we will review to it as I see it noted in bars etc as just Pink Pigeon or The Pink Pigeon.
Pink Pigeon hails form the Medine Distillery, Mauritius. The Medine Distillery has been gaining a very solid reputation for its Penny Blue range of Single Estate “Pure” rums. They are very proud of being a Single Estate Produce and they are equally clear on the fact they do not permit the use of additives in any of their rums.
Saint James XO Rhum Vieux Agricole. In all honesty I’m not totally sure if this is a bottling which replaces a previous XO or another rhum in the Saint James line up. Or is just a completely new release?
Saint James have a number of rums in their line up and the website isn’t always as up to date, as I would perhaps like. Couple this, with the fact that so many older bottlings lurk in various guises on numerous online stores. So I haven’t really researched, too much into the history of this particular rhum. I just end up giving myself a sore head and getting no further forward.
