Ron Mulata de Cuba Anejo 7 Anos

Ron Mulata de Cuba Anejo 7 AnosRon Mulata de Cuba Anejo 7 Anos. Every Christmas discount supermarket Aldi get some “premum” rum in. In the past we have seen El Dorado 8 Year Old and their 15 Year Old, The Kraken and this year we got Pink Pigeon Spiced Rum from Mauritius and Ron Mulata de Cuba Anejo 7 Anos.

It’s quite an expensive business reviewing all this rum so I take any discounts I can get. When Aldi get rums in for Christmas time they usually come with a sizeable discount. Ron Mulata de Cuba isn’t as easily available in the UK as it is in mainland Europe (Spain and Germany in particular). The 7 year old usually retails at around the £25-30 mark. Aldi were selling it for £17.99. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Saint James Rhum Vieux 7 Year Old

Saint James Rhum Vieux 7 Year Old Rum Review by the fat rum pirateSaint James Rhum Vieux 7 Year Old. Saint James are a Rhum Agricole producer from the island of Martinique. Back in 2014 they revamped and released a range of specific age statement rhums. A 7,12 and 15 year old made up the range. Today we will be looking at the youngest of those rhums.

Saint James have featured on the site before. I reviewed their Saint James Heritage rum which was a puzzling blend of caribbean rums and their own agricole rhum. I also reviewed their more regarded Rhum Ambre. This is a review I need to re-visit as my appreciation of Rhum Agricole has risen considerably since I wrote that back in 2013/4. Rum Nation Ilha De Madeira Limited Edition 2017 review by the fat rum pirateRum Nation Ilha de Madeira. Rum Nation are an independent bottler that we have covered a couple of times already on this site. They have been operating since 1999. Besides releasing rum under the Rum Nation label they also market rums such as Ron Millonario and Reimonenq.

Rum Nation and the Portuguese island of Madeira have been in the “rum news” quite a bit lately. Over the past year rum Nation began releasing their “Rare Rums” series and the emergence of the William Hinton brand from Madeira has alerted people to “Madeira Rhum” as a thing. Rum Nation Rare Rums Engenho Novo 2009 2017

Rum Nation Rare Rums Engenho Novo Small Batch Rum Review by the fat rum pirateRum Nation Rare Rums Engenho Novo. Rum Nation are an Italian Independent bottler. Their “Rare Rums” series is a new venture by them in 2017. They have released a number of rums in this series. They are noted as being “Small Batch” rather than Single Cask.

Engenho Novo is a new name to me in the rum world. Engenho Novo is actually a middle class suburb of Rio in Brasil but it is also the name of a spirits producer from the Portugese island of Madeira. Unfortunately the groups website is down at the moment and I have little information to go on. I presume that Engenho Novo comprises of the distillery which produces the William Hinton line of rums that have recently become more commerically available over here in the UK. Cor Cor Red – Okinawan Rum

Cor Cor Red Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCor Cor Red Okinawan Rum.  Cor Cor Red and Green first seriously caught my eye at London Rumfest 2017.  They were displaying at the Boutique Rumfest on the Friday afternoon.  A show which is designed for new rums to display their wares to the “trade”. Its the part of the weekend I personally enjoy the most. The atmosphere is a little more restrained and you get to try a lot of new rums. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
