Weber Haus 7 Madeiras Premium Cachaca Blend

Weber Haus 7 Madeiras Premium Cachaca Blend review by the fat rum pirateWeber Haus 7 Madeiras Premium Cachaca Blend. When we think of Madeira we probably think of the Portuguese island or even the fortified wine which hails from said island. However Madeira when translated from Portuguese (which is the official language in Brasil) to English it simply means wood.

So this cachaca is a blend of aged cachacas which have been aged in 7 different woods. Which is quite an interesting concept. I cannot recall trying a rum or cachaca or any other spirit for that matter which has as many different types of ageing in its blend. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Diablesse Caribbean Rum

DIablesse Caribbean Rum review by the fat rum pirateDiablesse Caribbean Rum. This is the second rum from the Diablesse brand, that I have reviewed recently. At present the two rums are their full portfolio.

The first Diablesse rum I reviewed was a Spiced Clementine Rum, I really enjoyed that one. This rum is perhaps their more “serious” effort. Founder of Diablesse Rum, Cleo Farman is very keen to attract drinkers to try out rum for the first time, so has went for a blend of rums from some of the Caribbean’s real powerhouses of rum production. Compagnie des Indes Caraibes

Compagnie Des Indes Caraibes Blend Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCompagnie des Indes Caraibes. The French Independent bottler Compagnie des Indes have been making great strides over the past couple of years. They have expanded from releasing rums at 43-46% ABV and are now moving into Cask Strength bottlings.

A fair few of these have went to the Danish market and have been pretty difficult to come by in the UK and mainland Europe. Generous samples from enthusiasts in Denmark have helped me try some of these rums. Fortunately Compagnie des Indes Caraibes is/was a little easier to access. Liberte Black Spiced Rum

Liberte Black Spiced Rum Review by the fat rum pirate Liberte Black Spiced Rum is a new entrant to the ever expanding Spiced Rum market. Liberte Black Spiced Rum is actually a supermarket “own brand”.  This one hails from German discount supermarket Lidl.

It has already received a bit of coverage in the press as perhaps being an alternative to the ever Popular “The Kraken”.  The Kraken pretty much has the “Dark Spiced” market sewn up.  For some reason despite the ongoing popularity of Morgan’s Spiced Gold – the Captain Morgan company have done little to promote or make available their Black Spiced Rum in the UK.  Despite making it pretty much a Kraken knock off in terms of appearance. Saint James Heritage

Saint James Heritage rum Review by the fat rum pirateSaint James Heritage rum.  It comes in their standard tall, rectangular bottle.  The name suggests some kind of retro rhum agricole, perhaps a throwback to times gone by.

Nope nothing of the sort.  The Martinique agricole producers haven’t even released an Agricole this time.  It’s actually a blend of rums from 6 different islands. It is a blend of both cane juice and molasses based r(h)ums. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
