English Harbour Antigua Rum Port Cask Finish

English Harbour Antigua Rum Port Cask Finish. English Harbour are a rum brand from Antigua, an island in the West Indies. They are pretty much famous for their signature English Harbour 5 Year Old and frankly not a lot else really.

Domestically they produce Cavalier Gold and White rum and Koko Caribe Coconut Rum. Rarely, if ever have I seen these rums for sale outside of Antigua. The rum is produced at Antigua Distillery Limited. Which is the islands only active distillery. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

An Interview with Dave Marsland – Manchester Rum Festival

.An Interview with Dave Marsland - Manchester Rum Festival the fat rum pirateAn Interview with Dave Marsland – Manchester Rum Festival. Much like Peter Holland I could have put any number of monikers after Dave’s name..

I am producing this interview series to try and keep people who are doing good things in the Rum World, in the public view.

Saint James Royal Ambre 45%

Saint James Royal Ambre 45% Rum Review by the fat rum pirateSaint James Royal Ambre 45%. A pleasant surprise when on holiday in Salou, Spain, was stumbling across a litre bottle of this difficult to find 45% ABV Royal Ambre.

The cachaca I am reviewing today is one the three signature bottlings from each of those distilleries.

It is also closely related to the previous Santo Grau cachaca I reviewed as it comes from the same small distillery in Sao Paulo state Itirapua. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Fiji has been on the “rum radar” recently with Plantation Rum releasing the newest addition to their Signature Blends in the shape of the “Isle of Fiji” which I reviewed earlier this month. An Interview with Kit Carruthers – Ninefold Distillery

An Interview with Kit Carruthers - Ninefold Distillery by the fat rum pirateAn Interview with Kit Carruthers – Ninefold Distillery.

The Ninefold Distillery has only been active for just over a year. I have gotten to know Kit over the past year or so, through other Scottish Rum Producers such as Ross Bradley (Sugar House Rum) and Collin Van Schayk (J. Gow Rum).

Between them they are producing some of the best “home grown” rum in the British Isles. I have reviewed rum from all three of the above brands. I would heartily recommend reading over my reviews and perhaps picking up a bottle or two to try. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
