That Boutique-y Rum Company Foursquare Distillery Barbados Aged 12 Years Batch 7 rum review by the fat rum pirateThat Boutique-y Rum Company Foursquare Distillery Barbados Aged 12 Years Batch 7. If I ever get around to releasing some rum, please remind if only for the sanity of my fellow bloggers not to call it The Fat Rum Pirate Rum Company. I would also be worried about getting sued for causing repetitive strain injury. TFRPRC….hmmmm doesn’t really flow of the tongue. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Black Ven Distillery Dark Rum

Black Ven Distillery Dark Rum review by the fat rum pirateBlack Ven Distillery Dark Rum. There has been quite an explosion of rum production in the UK over the past 5 or so years. Many of these rum “producers” are doing little other than “spicing” an existing imported Caribbean rum base and then proclaiming it as British, English or Scottish or even Welsh “rum”. Dead Reckoning Australia 9 Year Bourbon Cask

Dead Reckoning Australia 9 Year Bourbon Cask Rum review by the fat rum pirateDead Reckoning Australia 9 Year Bourbon Cask. We have become quite familiar with the Dead Reckoning line up of rums of the past couple of years. For those who are unacquainted with the bottler they are one of the first Australian Independent bottlers. Certainly one of the first to be exporting to the lucrative EU and US markets. Ron Bengalo Rum from Barbados

Ron Bengalo Rum from Barbados review by the fat rum pirateRon Bengalo Rum from Barbados. In todays climate most people out there will be hunting for the odd rum bargain. Especially, when it comes to something to use as a casual weekend mixer.

Not that really says a great deal if we are being entirely honest. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Dead Reckoning Rum Barbados Barossa Valley Tawny Cask 9.5 Year

Dead Reckoning Rum Barbados Barossa Valley Tawny Cask 9.5 Year review by the fat rum pirateDead Reckoning Rum Barbados Barossa Valley Tawny Cask 9.5 Year. We are back to Australia and the Independent bottlers over at Dead Reckoning Rum. It’s safe to say that this is a release which is likely to make quite a lot of US and European based rum enthusiasts get a pang of jealousy.

It’s not often I can say I have seen a release come out of Australia where I have thought – I really want that. Thats not to say there isn’t good rum coming out of Australia but nothing has ever piqued my interest quite as much as this particular release. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Rum of the Year 2021 - Winner rum review by the fat rum pirateRum of the Year 2021 – Winner. I published my shortlist a few days ago. A longer shortlist than usual but bizarrely down to me actually reviewing less rum this year! For an explanation then please read the Shortlist article.

Much like 2020 the year 2021 didn’t go quite as how many had planned. It was certainly much better than 2020 but unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing and peoples lives are still be disrupted. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
