Black Tot 40 Year Old Demerara Rum is the latest release from independent bottlers Elixir Distillers. The rum has been released to pay homage to the British Royal Navy. Unlike the original Black Tot release which was released in 2011 this is not a rum which was available to the Royal British Navy.

Ron Pampero Anejo Seleccion 1938 can be quite a tricky rum to track down. Diageo the owner of this Venezulan rum brand seem focused upon the entry level Anejo and Blanco. In addition to this the brands Aniversario is fairly easy to pick up. Especially in Spain.
Anejo Seleccion 1938 takes part of its name from the year in which Pampero began producing rum as Industrias Pampero. It is Anejo (aged) rum but no age is attributed on the bottle.
Single Cane Estate Rums – Worthy Park is actually a Bacardi International Brand. Acting almost like an independent bottler Bacardi, released a couple of rums (this and a Dominican Republic rum) into the Travel Retail market in 2015.
Worthy Park for those who aren’t familiar is a re-born rum distillery from Jamaica. Forced to close in the nineteen sixties due by the Jamaican government the distillery began operating again in 2005. A number of Worthy Park rums from 2005 and 2006 have been released onto the Independent market over the past couple of years.
Rhum J.M are rhum agricole producer from Martinique. Located in north of the island at the foot of Mount Pelée. Rhum J.M Blanc is one of the houses less expensive bottlings. It is a firm favourite amongst agricole lovers that like a bit more bite to their white rum.
Distilling the juice of sugar cane gives birth to this white agricultural rum. All Rhum J.M. AOC rums are produced exclusively from sugar cane grown entirely by the family in the highlands of Bellevue.
Distilled in 2000 from the last Trinidad molasses and bottled in 2012. This rum from the famous Caroni Distillery has been bottled by Italian company Velier.
As my rum journey has progressed (I hope with my assistance some of you have a smoother journey than me!) I have read a great deal about the now defunct Caroni Distillery. Caroni is famous for “Heavy Rum” and rums from the distillery can now fetch quite mind boggling prices. I have been fortunate enough to pick up both this and a 16-year-old Caroni (The Ancient Mariner) for under £50 per bottle.
