Karukera Silver

Karukera are an Agricole Rhum producer from Guadeloupe. Karukera is the original
Arawak (Caribbean Indan) name for Guadeloupe. Despite the very slick presentation (which caused me to overlook this brand) Karukera have been distilling and producing rhum since 189Karukera Silver Rum Review by the fat rum pirate5.

The Esperence distillery in Sainte Marie – “Certain Origins do not Deceive” is the companies tag line.  Karukera have a very nice website unfortunately for me its all in French and resists translation.  There is a lot of information there and I can pick out bits but not a lot unfortunately! Ron Barceló Imperial

Ron Barcelo Imperial rum Review by the fat rum pirateBarceló are on of the big three named rum producers of the Dominican Republic.  I say named because Oliver & Oliver another big Dominican rum player produce a variety of rums under various different guises.

In 1929 Spaniard Julián Barceló arrived in Santo Domingo and founded Barceló & Co. In 1974, Don Julián Barceló handed over the reins to his nephew Miguel Barceló and in 1980 Ron Barceló Imperial was born. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Habitation Velier Port Mourant Still – White Rum

Proposed a couple of years ago, Luca Gargano of Velier hopes to introduce a system of classifying rum, which will be embraced and used across the industry.

Kill Devil Trinidad 2003 – 13 Year Old

Kill Devil Trinidad 2003 rum review by the fat rum pirateAnother independent bottling from Kill Devil.  This time we are taking a trip to Trinidad.  This rum is one of the first releases by Kill Devil to be released at Cask Strength.

As the rum is bottled at Cask Strength the packaging has been tweaked slightly.  The lozenge label on the tube and on the bottle are red/purple in colour rather than gold as on the 46% ABV rums. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Santa Teresa Linaje – Gran Reserva

Santa Teresa Linaje Rum Review by the fat rum pirateSanta Teresa Linaje was released back in 2012.  Whether it was a worldwide release or not I’m not entirely sure.

Santa Teresa are the oldest producers of rum in Venezuela.  An independent family group employing over 400 people. Santa Teresa is renowned for its community investment, including the Alcatraz project, the Revenga municipal projects of Aragua State, location of the Agroindustrial tourist and sports complex at Hacienda Santa Teresa. Rum Nation Panama 18 Year Old – 2014

Rum Nation Panama 18 Rum Review by the fat rum pirateRum Nation are an Italian Independent bottler headed up by Fabio Rossi.  It was formed in 1999 and has the tagline Single Domaine Rum.
