Old Port Rum

Old Port Rum Review by the fat rum pirateOld Port Imported East Indian Rum hails from the Amrut Distillery in Kambipura, Bangalore, India.

The Indian rum market is huge (India is huge).  Until very recently Old Monk was the biggest selling dark rum in India.  In more recent times McDowells No1 Rum has replaced Old Monk at the top of the charts.  For one reason or another Old Port seems to be more appreciated amongst rum lovers outside of India, than in its home country. Rum of the Year 2015

Rum of the Year The Fat Rum PirateRum of the Month has been a feature which we ran on the site from January to October. Rum of the Year 2015 its logical conclusion.

Appleton Estate 21 Year Old Rum

Appleton Estate 21 Year Old Rum will be for many the top of the tree in terms of Appleton tasting.

With the Appleton Estate 21 Year Old coming in (depending on how savvy you shop), at just over £100, the 30 Year Old now largely unavailable and the Exclusive only available at the Appleton Distillery, it is unlikely many will make the jump from a £100 rum to the next readily available rum.  The 50 Year Old.  The £3500 price tag will put off most of you reading this review.
