The Legendary Alnwick Rum

The Legendary Alnwick Rum Review by the fat rum pirateThe Legendary Alnwick Rum. The Spirit of Northumberland. I reviewed this just over three years ago. At the time it seems I wasn’t all that impressed. I re-visited The Legendary Alnwick Rum because its very easy to get ahold of up here in the North East. I was also a little concerned that I had underestimated it. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Kirk and Sweeney Dominican Rum 12 Year

Kirk and Sweeney 12 year old rum review by the fat rum pirate Kirk and Sweeney Dominican Rum 12 Year. Kirk and Sweeney is an American rum “brand”. As well as having this rum their range also consists of a 18 year and 23 year old rum.

The company behind Kirk and Sweeney are 3 Badge Beverage Company from California. Kirk and Sweeney is named after a wooden schooner. Bacardi Anejo Cuatro Aged 4 Years

Bacardi Anejo Cuatro Aged 4 Years Rum Review by the fat rum pirateBacardi Anejo Cuatro Aged 4 Years. Every few years (or is it months?) Bacardi seems to unveil its latest “Premium” offerings. Earlier this year Bacardi once again unveiled some new “Premium” expressions in the form of a new 8 and 10 year old rum.

Foursquare Rum Distillery 2005

Foursquare 2005 Rum Distillery rum review by the fat rum pirateFoursquare Rum Distillery 2005. Foursquare 2005 Completes my trio of reviews for this years “Exceptional Cask Series”. This is despite the fact the 2005 is actually the lowest numbered of this years release. Had the releases been released in order then I might have reviewed them in such a way. Instead we got them all on the same day in the UK. This left me to publish the reviews in any order I fancied. Which is exactly what I have done. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Foursquare Rum Distillery Premise

Foursquare Rum Distillery Premise rum review by the fat rum pirateFoursquare Rum Distillery Premise. Another intriguingly named rum from Foursquare. Premise – a proposition supporting or helping to support a conclusion. Cryptic, very cryptic.

Foursquare Premise the eighth bottling in the exceptional cask series. It is one of three bottlings released in 2018 alongside Dominus and 2005. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Foursquare Rum Distillery Dominus

Foursquare Rum Distillery Dominus Rum Review by the fat rum pirateFoursquare Dominus. Dominus is the Latin word for master or owner. The rum is noted as being “Master of the House” on the rear label. This convention continues the theme of similarly named rums from Foursquare such as Tryptych, Principia and Criterion. It is worth noting that such “fancy” names are quite common in the whisky world. The likes of Ardbeg are well-known for their curiously named bottlings. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Dom Bre Ouro Carvalho

Dom Bre Ouro Carvalho Rum Review by the fat rum pirate CachacaDom Bre Ouro Carvalho. Hailing from the Guarani Distillery in the state of Minas Gerais comes Dom Bre. “Cachaca Con Arte” as the label goes.

I have noticed that the Cachaca producers seem very keen to point out the artisan aspects of their production. Also they seem very keen on pointing out how sustainable and ecologically sound their production facilities are. I’ll confess I’m not all that “green” minded but I am sure such practices will appeal to a good number of people. Just maybe forget about the fact the Cachaca has to be transported from Brasil to Europe….. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
