Ron Cartavio Anejo

Ron Cartavio Anejo Rum Review by the fat rum pirateRon Cartavio Anejo. I picked this bottling from Peruvian rum producer Cartavio up in Mallorca. Hence the more “exotic” looking photo. This photo was definitely not taken in sunny Sunderland!

Ron Cartavio Anejo is the entry level aged rum in the Cartavio line up. This was quite an old dusty bottle and it set me back the princely sum of 10 Euros.  In the UK a bottle of this would set me back around £22-25 for a 70cl.  It is bottled at a fairly uninspiring 38% ABV. Cargo Cult Spiced Rum Review by the fat rum pirateJohn Frum’s Cargo Cult Spiced Rum. This is a Spiced Rum which has been making a few waves in the UK. This is partly due to it being available in Marks and Spencer. It is also available at the travelling “The Rum Festival” events – where it is proving very popular with consumers. Bayou Select Rum

Bayou Select Rum Review by the fat rum pirateBayou Select Rum. Bayou are a rum brand that hail from Louisiana in the US of A. I have been aware of the brand for a number of years now. Peaky Blinder Black Spiced Rum

Peaky Blinder Black Spiced Rum Review by the fat rum piratePeaky Blinder Black Spiced Rum. Peaky Blinder’s is a very popular programme in the UK at the moment. It is a Gangster Family Epic set just after the First World War. I’ve never seen it to be honest.

The term Peaky Blinder refers to the gangs Flat Caps which they stitched razor blades into to slash the foreheads of their enemies, causing blood to drip into their eyes rendering them temporarily blind and unable to defend further attacks on their person. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Mount Gay 1703 Master Select Rum – 2017 Release

Mount Gay 1703 Master Select Rum Review by the fat rum pirate 2017 releaseMount Gay 1703 2017 release. Mount Gay probably don’t need much introduction to even the most casual of Rum drinkers. Putting aside the puerile/childish comedy that can be derived from it being a “Gay” rum, the Eclipse is omnipresent in most British supermarkets. It’s availablity in pretty much every Airport I have ever visited in Europe also ensures it is one of the Rum Worlds big hitters. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
