Monymusk Overproof White Rum. Monymusk Sugar Estate lies in the South of the island of Jamaica on the Vere Palins in the parish of Clarendon. Rum has been made from Jamaican molasses in this area since the 18th century. Monymusk rum is initially distilled at the ultra modern Clarendon Distillery. The rums in the Monymusk portfolio are then blended and aged at the nearby Innswood facility which was also formerly a distillery but is now a blending and ageing house.

Until recently the only chance of attending a Rum Festival in the UK was at the annual UK Rumfest based in London. In late 2011 Jonathan Rees had a Eureka! moment to create a Rum festival in Cardiff.
From humble beginnings and numerous increasingly sized venues the Cardiff Rum Festival is now in its 5th year. This years event is the most ambitious yet and promises to be the biggest and best to date.
Another release from Habitation Velier. This time we are seeing Velier partnering up with Worthy Park Estate in Jamaica for this release.
First up I will help with the title for this rum. Fortunately as well as providing us with a rather confusing and slightly obscure title, Velier have also provided us with extensive notes on the production and origin of this rum.
Habitation Velier tagline the “House of Pure Single Rums” is part of the ongoing Gargano classification system.
Proposed a couple of years ago, Luca Gargano of Velier hopes to introduce a system of classifying rum, which will be embraced and used across the industry.
For more information on the system please see the following link which will give you more information.
Hillery & Son is an authentic Premium Jamaican Rum Punch. Created from the closely guarded Bryan family recipe. At least that is what the marketing says anyway!
Upto now the site has focused on rums and spiced rums. We have featured the occasional liqueur but never any pre-mixed drinks or any of the “rum beers” which have sprung up over the past couple of years.
Clairin Casimir (batch 2) hails from the Douglas Casimir Distillery in Baraderes, Haiti. The Clairins (Vaval and Sajous) are series of three different Clairins from three different distilleries all on Haiti. Exported from Haiti by Velier for the European market.
Clairin is a spirit distilled from sugar cane juice rather than molasses. It is technically very similar to rhum agricole. Due to the relatively lo-fi nature of the distilleries and their traditional methods clairin is much less refined and more “raw” than most rhum agricole.
