A1710 La Perle Brute 2017 rhum rum review by the fat rum pirateA1710 La Perle Brute 2017. This is a rhum which caused a bit of stir at the London Rumfest back in 2018. La Perle Brute, which translates to the Raw Pearl is a rhum that is distilled from sugarcane juice, rather than molasses.

Either way this is one of the top rums in the Depaz range. Rhum Depaz hail from the French Island of Martinique. Rhum Depaz produce their agricole rhum in line with the AOC Martinique guidelines. Rhum Clement hail from the island of Martinique. Although Martinique rhums are often produced in line with the AOC, this particular rhum has not been made within the strict confines of the AOC guidelines. Dillon Rhum Agricole Blanc 55%

Dillon Rhum Blanc Agricole Rum review Rhum Agricole by the fat rum pirateDillon Rhum Blanc Agricole. Dillon are a producer of Rhum Agricole from the island of Martinique. They produce Blanc (White) and aged Agricole rhum, alongside Sugar Syrups and pre-mixed Rum Punches.

Dillon can trace its history all the way back to 1690 to the original site of the distillery in Fort de France. It was set up by Arthur Dillon, a US soldier. Apparently, he married a well off widow and used her funds to help him purchase the estate. Originally it produced sugar but in the 19th century began producing rum.
