Sampan Rhum Vietnam. I aways like it, when I am reviewing something from a distillery that I haven’t touched upon previously. It makes the “introduction” section so much easier. Today, I am reviewing my first ever r(h)um from Vietnam.
Located right on the seafront, just metres from the beach stands Distillerie d’Indochine. The Owner and Master Distiller Anotine Poircuitte has over 35 years of experience in the field of wine and spirits so the website tells us!.
Clairin Sonson 2018. This is the fifth single estate Clairin to be released under Velier’s “Spirit of Haiti” offshoot. I have reviewed a couple (but not all) of these Clairin’s previously and links should appear at the bottom of this review.
A1710 La Perle Rare 2017 Canne Rouge R579. Or if you would prefer in English The Rare Pearl Red Cane. The R579 refers to the variety (is that the correct term?) of sugar cane used.
A1710 La Perle Brute 2017. This is a rhum which caused a bit of stir at the London Rumfest back in 2018. La Perle Brute, which translates to the Raw Pearl is a rhum that is distilled from sugarcane juice, rather than molasses.
