Coruba White Rum

Coruba White Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCoruba White Rum.  They are a brand of rum with mixed origins.  Coruba Dark is popular and widely available in the US and New Zealand. Coruba are a Jamaican rum brand (the rum used is understood to come from Appleton Estate).

The brand itself also seems to have some Swiss roots.  It is for the US market owned by Campari.  Coruba have a number of young “mixing” style rums in their portfolio.  They have also branched out into the cheaper flavoured market. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Arnisser No7 Jamaica Rum Worthy Park 2010

Arnisser No7 Jamaica Rum Worthy Park Review by the Fat Rum PirateArnisser No7 Jamaica Rum is an independently bottled rum from Worthy Park Distillery.  Arnisser hails from Germany (I think) and they have their own website.

They have bottled a number of rums as well as their own Gin and Brandy.  They bottle their rum in 200ml and 500ml bottles.  This 6 Year Old rum from Worthy Park was distilled in 2010.  Retail price for a 500ml bottle is 26 euros.  Which is very competitive.  I like the idea of the 200ml bottles as well.  That is a good amount of rum to try and the price is also very keen. Habitation Velier Forsyths WP 2005

Habitation Velier Forsyths WP 2005 rum review by the fat rum pirate Worthy Park EstateHabitation Velier Forsyths WP 2005 is another intrigingly named bottling from Luca Gargano and Co. Releases under the Habitation Velier moniker are coming out thick and fast.  Already a 2006 WP is available to buy.  With that in mind I thought I best get a review of this out quick before it sells out completely. Habitation Velier Hampden 2010 HLCF

Habitation Velier Hampden 2010 HLCF Rum Review by the fat rum pirateHabitation Velier have bottled a Pure Single Rum from the Hampden Estate in Jamaica. In actual fact they’ve now actually bottled three different expressions from the Hampden Estate.  I’m a little behind the times I’m afraid.

Released in 2016 this particular release is now particularly difficult to find.  It comes in the increasingly familiar Habitation Velier presentation box.  Which shows a drawing of each still the rum was distilled on.  It is also chock a block with detailed information on what the rum actually is.  No fairy stories here just cold hard facts. Duncan Taylor Single Cask Rum – Jamaica Long Pond Aged 15 Years (Cask 65)

Duncan Taylor Jamaica Long Pond 200 Single cask rum review by the fat rum pirateDuncan Taylor are a Whisky and Rum bottler from Aberdeen, Scotland.  They have been selling their rums in distinctive flask style bottles for a number of years now.

Like another Independent bottler, Mezan they keep a very similar presentation for each rum.  With them releasing so many rums, some differing only by a cask number it can make deciding on what to buy quite tricky! Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Blackadder Raw Cask – Finest Jamaica Hampden Rum Aged 15 Years

Blackadder let’Blackadder Hampden Estate 15 Rum Review by the fat rum pirare raw casks be honest about things.  It’s in your head and in its my head.  No doubt it gets into the head of everyone who ever buys a Blackadder Whisky or Rum and is familiar with BBC comedy.

I don’t even know whether there is any connection between the Rowan Atkinson series and this Independent bottler.  Appearance wise I am certainly getting a feel of “The Black Adder” which was the first (very different) series of the popular comedy.  My recollections come mainly from the 2nd and 3rd incarnations.  And yes that bloody ludicrous folky theme tune……… Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
