That Boutique-y Rum Company Blended Rum No.1 – Jamaica 9 Year Old Batch 1

That Boutique-y Rum Company Blended Rum No.1 - Jamaica 9 Year Old Batch 1 Rum Review by the fat rum pirateThat Boutique-y Rum Company Blended Rum No.1 – Jamaica 9 Year Old Batch 1. Nice short and snappy name for this particular rum from the sesquipedalian orators That Boutique-y Rum Company. Anyway I’ll get my head out of my Thesaurus and get this particular rum reviewed.

For the purposes of brevity I think we’ll call this one Blended Rum No.1 – Jamaica 9 Year. It’s a bit less of a mouthful. The SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) might not like me not using the full title but bugger it for this review. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Companheira Gatinha Cachaca

Companheira Gatinha Cachaca rum review by the fat rum pirateCompanheira Gatinha Cachaca. This is the second release from Companheira (Companion in English) that I have reviewed. I have previously reviewed the brands Extra Premium, which was one of the best cachacas I have sipped to date.

Companheira have been producing cachaca since 1994 and have a number of products in their portfolio. Companheira Gatinha has won awards recently at the Expocachaca in 2018 and Cacharitiba earlier this year. As a result of this I am assuming that it is a fairly recent addition to the market. Privateer International – Distillers Drawer New England Rum Bottled in Bond #31

Privateer International - Distillers Drawer New England Rum Bottled in Bond #31 rum review by the fat rum piratePrivateer International – Distillers Drawer New England Rum Bottled in Bond #31. Hailing from Ipswich, Boston Privateer are a rum company that have been making great waves over in the US of A. Founded by Andrew Cabot in 2011, their rums are overseen by Head Distiller Maggie Campbell.

Privateers rums occasionally find their way over here to the UK, usually in very small amount via The Whisky Exchange. As a result it had proved quite tricky to obtain their rums to review. I have Ivar over at Rum Revelations to thank for this rum, by way of our latest sample swap at London Rumfest. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Top CBD Spirits Spiced Rum

Top CBD Spirits Spiced Rum review by the fat rum pirate Top CBD Spirits Spiced Rum. Top Beverages Limited are a new company set up by entrepeneurs Nick Pullen and Saf Ali. They have released no fewer than nine products, as part of their brand’s Top Beverages launch.

This Spiced Rum is one of three rum expressions they have released. Now, I will be perfectly honest at this stage that I was extremely sceptical about CBD infused or Hemp rum. The other rums in the series are a White Rum and a Mocha Flavoured Rum. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Cachaca Barril 12 Cachaca Extra Premium

Cachaca Barril 12 Cachaca Extra Premium Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCachaca Barril 12 Cachaca Extra Premium. We are back on the hunt for some Premium Cachaca, rums (though it’s highly debatable) older brother. Today we are visiting the city of Caldas Novas in the state of Goias located in the centre-left in Brasil.

Cachacaria Vale das Aguas Quentes is where Cachaca Barril 12 is produced. The sugarcane is harvested on site at the 300 hectare plantation. As well as sugarcane, local fruits are also grown at this location. Cachacaria Vale das Aguas Quentes produce a number of different products, such as flavoured cachaca and liqueuers. A full list of their products, can be found here. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Stolen Overproof Rum

S3

Stolen Overproof Rum review by the fat rum pirateStolen Overproof Rum. This is a rum which has been much spoken about on the other side of the pond. Much Like Doctor Bird it is an independent bottling of Jamaican rum, which the Yanks have been able to get their hands on ahead of their European counterparts. Which is pretty unusual in the grand scheme of things. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

A1710 La Perle Brute 2017

A1710 La Perle Brute 2017 rhum rum review by the fat rum pirateA1710 La Perle Brute 2017. This is a rhum which caused a bit of stir at the London Rumfest back in 2018. La Perle Brute, which translates to the Raw Pearl is a rhum that is distilled from sugarcane juice, rather than molasses.

Situated in the North East of the Caribbean island Martinique, which is already famous for Rhum Agricole, sits the Yves Assier de Pompignan distillery. A very small distillery, which currently only produces white rhum agricole. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
