Bacardi Carta Oro (Bacardi Gold) rum review by the fat rum pirateBacardi re-launched this rum only last year in the UK.  Until then Bacardi Gold (as it was then) was bottled at 37.5% ABV.  This was increased to 40% ABV.  Now the whole Bacardi line up has been re-vamped and Bacardi Gold has been re-named in a more contermporary style whilst still keeping some of the distinguishing Bacardi features. Westerhall Estate Superb Light Rum

Westerhall Estate Superb Light Rum Review by the Fat Rum PirateWesterhall Estate is situated on the Caribbean Island of Grenada.  Since its inception it has existed in various guises.  Presently Westerhall Estate blend and bottle their range of 6 rums.

Mezan Jamaica 2003

Mezan Jamaica 2003 Monymusk rum reivew by the fat rum pirateMezan’s 2003 Jamaica Rum comes from the Monkymusk Distillery.  Monymusk is Jamaica’s oldest sugar and rum estate.  It has been producing rum for over 200 years and was named after Scottish Baronet Sir Archibald Grant’s estate in his home country.

VAT 19 Golden Rum

Vat 19 Golden Rum Trinidad ReviewThe wonders of the internet and high street phenomenon Black Friday led me to finally putting a bottle of VAT 19 into my shopping basket.  UK based online retailer  http://www.drinksupermarket.com had 20% off everything on sale.  Drink Supermarket tend to stock less higher end products than most online booze merchants.  So I was able to pick up a good few entry and lower level rums.  They seem to focus on rum’s they can actually sell…….I’ve had a good few rums with a lot of dust on them from other retailers!
