Rum Sixty Six was originally released a few years ago by Foursquare Distillery to celebrate Bajan independence gained in…..1966. Over the last 18 months to 2 years the distillery has had a real renaissance. A number of new expressions have been released that have intrigued and brought great praise from the rum world and beyond. Rum Sixty Six Cask Strength is another welcome addition.

Habitation Velier Last Ward 2007 is an intriguingly named rum in the popular series of Pure rums from Luca Gargano and co. Last Ward 2007 represents the Ward family. Who for over 100 years owned and ran the Mount Gay rum distillery in St Lucy, Barbados.
As with all Habitation Velier releases you get a lot of information on the bottle and the study card sleeve which houses the rum. Presented in the now distinctive flask style opaque bottles this rum from the Mount Gay Rum Refinery is given a baby blue colour scheme. Velier usually give individual distilleries/stills a colour scheme which they carry through for all releases. This was most commonly used in their old Demerara offerings. Foursquare Rum Distillery Triptych. Another collaboration between Velier and Foursquare. Definitely not an independent bottling. Don’t let Richard hear you saying otherwise!
Released in the guise of a “regular” Velier bottling rather than the Habitation Velier label, this is a follow up if you like to last years Foursquare 2006. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
Kill Devil Barbados Aged 14 Years. Another Kill Devil rum from Hunter Laing and another Single Blended rum from the Foursquare Distillery, Barbados.
As with all the Kill Devil rums (aside from a couple of blends) this is a single cask rum. Kill Devil have coloured coded their rums. All the rums in the range come in the familiar black cylinder and opaque bottle. However those issued at Cask Strength have a black and purple/pink colour scheme. Those that are diluted to 46% ABV maintain the black and gold colour scheme. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
Foursquare Rum Distillery Criterion is the latest rum in their Exceptional Cask Selection. It seems that in the Foursquare world it never rains but it pours. Just last year we were spoilt with numbers 3 and 4 in the Exceptional Cask Selection and the “controversial” Foursquare 2006. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
Blackadder Raw Cask Barbados Foursquare rum. Blackadder’s Raw Cask rum selection are a number of rums which are “raw” and straight from the cask. No colouring, no additives and no filtration, so they look a little cloudy and raw.
Sourcing Blackadder rum has proved difficult. I ended up getting this bottling from Poland, of all places. This is particularly frustrating as most of Blackadder’s range is aged in the UK. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
