Cadenhead’s Classic Rum Aged 17 Years

Cadenhead's Classic Rum Aged 17 Years Rum review by the fat rum pirateCadenhead’s Classic Rum Aged 17 Years. I reviewed Cadenhead’s Classic Rum way back in 2015, when I was just cutting my teeth in the review world. I liked it quite a lot and along with their 1842 cask became quite a fan of these blended rums from the Scottish Indie Bottler.

Now Cadenhead’s are not one of the new kids on the block when it comes to bottling fine spirits. Indeed they recently celebrated 175 Years in the business. They are proudly Scotland’s oldest Independent bottler. So they know a thing or two. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Borgoe Reserve Collection Aged 12 Years

Borgoe Reserve Collection Aged 12 Years Rum review by the fat rum pirateBorgoe Reserve Collection Aged 12 Years. Suriname is perhaps not the first place you might think about being a rum producer. To be perfectly honest thoughts by me about Suriname in my lifetime have been fairly brief. The only real thing I know about Suriname is that it is a former Dutch Colony and several notable players for the Netherlands football team were born there such as Edgar Davids, Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink and Clarence Seedorf. Foursquare Rum Distillery 2008

Foursquare Rum Distillery 2008 Rum Review by the fat rum pirateFoursquare Rum Distillery 2008. There was a popular Pop Hit some years ago by the Boy/Girl Groups Steps called 5,6,7,8, which immediately came to mind when I first saw Foursquare 2008.

Quite why is a bit questionable, as although they have released a Foursquare 2005,2006,2007 and 2008 one of those was the “Black” (or should that be Golden) sheep of the family. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

William Hinton Rum 6 Anos

William Hinton Rum 6 Anos Rum review by the fat rum pirateWilliam Hinton Rum 6 Anos. William Hinton are a rum brand from the Portuguese island of Madeira. I’ve covered a few brands and rums from Madeira but not William Hinton. Which was a bit of a surprise when I came to review this particular rum.

I honestly thought I had reviewed at least one William Hinton rum! Anyway, lets give you a little bit of information on the William Hinton brand. Despite only recently coming to more global attention – perhaps due to the general rise in interest in Agricole Rhum, rum was been produced on Madeira for hundreds of years. Indeed the cultivation of Sugar Cane has been a key part of the islands economy for many years and has increased considerably in recent times. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Captain Morgan Tiki Mango and Pineapple

Captain Morgan Tiki Mango and Pineapple Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCaptain Morgan Tiki Mango and Pineapple. I’m frequently asked why I continue to review and purchase such questionable products. See it as some kind of penance…..

I need to make one thing very clear from the outset – this is not rum. The Captain Morgan brand was originally focused around a “dark” navy style rum. However, it has now moved far beyond that. Rarely for the better it must be noted Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Damoiseau Les Arranges Pineapple Victoria

Damoiseau Les Arranges Pineapple Victoria review by the fat rum pirate Damoiseau Les Arranges Pineapple Victoria. I have deviated from the true title of this bottling slightly so not to confuse English readers, who may not have a second language. The true title of this rum is Ananas Victoria. Which is the word more commonly used around the rest of the world, for what us English speakers call the Pineapple. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
