Rabbie’s Rum Aged 17 Years – Uitvlugt by the Whisky Barrel

The Whisky Barrel Rabbie's Rum Utivlugt 17 Year Old Rum Review by the fat rum pirateRabbie’s Rum – named after Scotlands most famous poet Robert “Rabbie” Burns.  This particular rum was bottled by The Whisky Barrel and hails from the legendary and now defunct Uitvlugt (owt-fluct) Distillery.

Watson’s Trawler Rum

Watson's Trawler Rum review by the fat rum pirateWatson’s Trawler Rum is another dark navy style rum from “up north”.  Scotland has a real tradition when it comes to rum.  Many famous Independent bottlers such as obvious ones like Cadenhead’s and Duncan Taylor age their rums in Scotland.  Surprisingly for some, Italian bottlers such as Samaroli and Silver Seal also age their rums up there. rockact81r Mogwai Rum

Mogwai Rum Rockact81r Rum Review by the fat rum pirate Demerararockact81r Mogwai Rum is without doubt one of the oddest rums I have ever known to be bottled.  This rum is not a homage to the pre-horror stage of the furry little animals in the film Gremlins.

Though the band which the rum is named after obviously did take their name from the film.  Quite why a Scottish post-rock band called themselves Mogwai is one thing, quite why a Scottish post rock band would want to release a rum? I’m kind of stumped. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Rum Artesenal Guyana Rum Enmore

rum artesenal guyana review by the fat rum pirateRum Artesenal are a small Independent bottler from Germany.  They have bottled a number of rums from various sources over the past couple of years.

Unfortunately due to the size of the operation and the language barrier, I have been unable to find any other information on them.

Their rums are available in Germany, Denmark and other parts of mainland Europe.  I have not seen any bottlings from them in the UK. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
