Kill Devil Guadeloupe Bellevue Distillery Aged 20 Years The Whisky Barrel Exclusive. Another collaboration between The Whisky Barrel and Hunter Laing’s rum offshoot Kill Devil. This time they have bottled two separate casks for 20-year-old rum from the Bellevue Distillery on Guadeloupe.
Today I am reviewing the following cask. Both rums are available only from The Whisky Barrel and are priced at £129.95.
Kill Devil Jamaica Hampden Distillery Aged 10 Years – The Whisky Barrel Exclusive. An exclusive bottling sees one of Scotland’s younger rum bottlers, team up with a relatively youthful Scottish retailer in the shape of The Whisky Barrel.
The Whisky Barrel have been earning a great reputation over the past few years. Focusing and stocking Independent bottlings of both whisky and rum. Obviously my attention has always focused on the rum. They heavily feature two of my favourite UK based Indie bottlers. Bristol Classic Rum and Hunter Laing’s Kill Devil range.
Rabbie’s Rum – named after Scotlands most famous poet Robert “Rabbie” Burns. This particular rum was bottled by The Whisky Barrel and hails from the legendary and now defunct Uitvlugt (owt-fluct) Distillery.
One thing I have touched on before is the confusing and contradictory naming convention used by Independent bottlers when it comes to Guyanese (or even Guyanan rum – I’ve put that in as I know how it annoys Lance over at The Lone Caner).
