They have 5 cachacas currently in their range. This Sapucaia Florida Ouro is their youngest cachaça. The name is taken from the Sapucaia farm, on which the cachaça is produced. Cachaça under the Colombina moniker was first produced way back in 1920. The brand hails from Alvinopolis, Santa Barbara, MInas Gerais in Brasil – as always with Cachaca.

The Canjica farm where Colombina was first produced has been producing Cachaca since the late 19th century. The Canjica sugar mill is of recognised historical value as one of the “principal mills remaining from the colonial period in Minas Gerais”. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

I like Cachaca Barao Dourado as they make reviewing their Cachaca’s quite simple and easy. They give you all the information you need on the bottle and the use of the wood types, it is aged in to identify each Cachaca, makes it super simple for me. One of the biggest problems I have had reviewing Cachaca (particularly those samples only available in Brasil) is finding information and information I can translate and understand. Upon attending the Cachaca festival earlier this year, I was advised by some of the experts there, to try anything that looks like it’s been put in a beer bottle. This seemed quite a bizarre suggestion.

Information on this brand has been hard to come by. It appears that this cachaça the Special Reserve is their premium offering. Their other Cachaca’s are presented with differing bottles and logo’s. Hailing from the Serra do Cadeado House of Cachaca in Ortigueira, Parana State. Cachaca Alambique Brasil Ouro is produced under the guidance of Master Blender Armando Del Bianco.

Oritgueira is known as the Capital of Honey in Brasil as it is the countries largest exporter of the bee’s sweet nectar. Cacbaca Alambique Brasil Ouro is produced in an ecological and sustainable environment. Everything used in the production of the Cachaca is recycled or reused. Sugar Cane Bagasse is recycled in various ways and vinasse, after being treated and mixed with manure, is used as fertiliser for the various crops on the plantation. In the laboratory class of a biochemical engineering class he was given his first opportunity to produce Cachaca.
