Back in 2013 Angostura announced the launch of No.1. The first in a new collection of limited edition “Premium” rums.
This the “first” Angostura No.1 (yes they have called subsequent releases No.1 as well confusingly) is part of the companies Cask Collection. The collection is a range of Premium Rums aged in select barrels.
Caroni Aged 15 Years is the older brother of the Aged 12 Years I reviewed earlier. Both bottlings by Velier standards are relatively inexpensive.
The Jefferson family have a long and rich history in the rum world. They were one of the first families to import sugar (and subsequently rum) to UK shores. The family is preserved in history at the Rum Story attraction in Whitehaven, Cumbria.
In late 2015 a curious bottling of Trinidad rum – Providence Estate arrived on the scene from Bristol Classic Rum. It certainly caught my attention somewhat more than perhaps yet another Caroni offering.
White Jack is a rum produced by Westerhall Estate. It is named White Jack as it is actually another celebrity tie in. None other than Jack White of The White Stripes commissioned this White Overproof rum.
Plantation 3 Stars is a white rum from the French based bottling giant Plantation . The name is coined from the 3 “stars” of the Caribbean from which the rum is obtained. Namely Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad. As with most of the Plantation rums there is no age statement.
