They seem to hail in the main either from Scotland or Italy (in most instances the rum bottled by Italians is aged in Scotland/England). This time we have a new bottler but not an entirely new face.

The bottler, The Duchess have made great waves with their attention to detail, both in terms of the design and presentation of their rums but more importantly due to the high standard of their offerings.

After trying a few different styles/brands you’ll start digging around stores and the Internet for new experiences. You will begin noticing strange bottlings by companies that seem to go beyond the usual brand structures.
Kill Devil Guatemala Darsa Distillery Aged 8 Years. Kill Devil is an old fashioned term for rum but this is a very new rum brand. Coming from independent whisky bottler Hunter-Laing. I came across these distinctive bottlings for the first time on a German website 4finespirits. I was interested in trying them but importing spirits into the UK can be a bit of minefield (the German’s also have a different rate of VAT which further complicates things) so I passed over buying them straight away.
