“Red Dot” Rum is the entry-level offering from Inner Circle, who are probably Australia’s second most famous rum producers. I cannot even bring myself to name the first….With this previous experience in Australian rum I am trying to approach this with an open mind. However, I will confess this is proving slightly difficult.
I’m sure anyone with a decent appreciation of rum will be able to guess why this Santa Teresa 1796 is named so. Yes, got it in one this was the year the distillery first went into production.
This rum introduced in 1996 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the distillery. It is bottled by C.A Ron Santa Teresa and is distributed in the UK by Coe Vintners of Essex. The rum is bottled at 40% ABV and a 70cl bottle will set you back between £40-45.

Nokomis, Florida (January 2015) – Harbour Island Rum Company announces the January 2015 United States release of AFROHEAD Premium Aged Dark Rum. Crafted to stand alone in the rum category, AFROHEAD Rum pays tribute to its origins of genuine inspiration. Tiburon Rum is the latest release from Traveller’s Liquors of Belize. Rum from Traveller’s Liquors is not readily available in the UK. I have previously tried only one of Traveller’s offerings One Barrel Rum. Which despite favourable reviews from other sites and a few “awards” was not appraised to well by myself.
An El Dorado Demerara White Rum aged for at least 3 years in oak casks, then double filtered through natural charcoal to remove the colour. This pretty much rounds off my El Dorado collection. The 3,5,12,15 and 21 have now been reviewed. Time will tell if any of the Single Cask, Spiced or Overproof offerings ever get a review. Time and Geography anyway as if I could actually get certain El Dorado rums I wouldn’t hesitate…..
