Cachaca Boa Luz Serie Ouro

Cachaca Boa Luz Serie Ouro Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCachaca Boa Luz Serie Ouro. This cachaça hails from the smallest state in Brasil Sergibe. Which may explain why it is the first cachaça from that state that I have tried!

Boa Luz Serie Ouro is produced at the Jardim das Laranjeiras (The Orange Garden) distillery. As well  as Boa Luz they also produce a range of cachaça called Xingo. Despite having their own quite modern looking website there wasn’t a great deal of information on the cachaca’s. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Velho Pescador Extra Premium Cachaca Aged 5 Years

Velho Pescador Extra Premium Cachaca Aged 5 Years rum cachaca review by the fat rum pirateVelho Pescador Extra Premium Cachaca Aged 5 Years.  Velho Pescador is actually a Weber Haus product. I was unaware of this. As a result of this my sample has remained untouched for a couple of months – as I had so many to try. I had not heard or seen of Velho Pescador before. My bad!

Weber Haus are quite a big deal in the Cachaca world and they are one of the producers trying to gain a foot hold in Europe. With my friend Leszek Wedzicha acting as their Brand Ambassador I am sure this will not take long! Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Sapucaia Florida Ouro

Sapucaia Florida Ouro Review by the fat rum pirateSapucaia Florida Ouro. Cachaca Sapucaia was first produced in Pindamonhangaba, Sao Paolo in the Paraiba Valley in 1933. They have 5 cachacas currently in their range. This Sapucaia Florida Ouro is their youngest cachaça. The name is taken from the Sapucaia farm, on which the cachaça is produced. Cachaca Tie Prata

Cachaca Tie Prata Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCachaca Tie Prata. This is another Cachaca from the Minas Gerais region of Brasil. This hails from Aiuruoca to be exact.

Cachaca Tie are a relatively small producer by Cachaca standards with approximately 35,000 litres of Cachaca produced per year.

Despite a number of long standing Cachaca producers in the Minas Gerais region Tie are also a fairly new producer. They currently have 3 Cachaca’s in their line up – Prata, Ouro and Canelinha. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Colombina Cachaca de Minas Serie Especial 10 Anos

Colombina Cachaca de Minas Serie Especial 10 Anos Rum Review by the fat rum pirateColombina Cachaca de Minas Serie Especial 10 Anos. Cachaça under the Colombina moniker was first produced way back in 1920. The brand hails from Alvinopolis, Santa Barbara, MInas Gerais in Brasil – as always with Cachaca.

The Canjica farm where Colombina was first produced has been producing Cachaca since the late 19th century. The Canjica sugar mill is of recognised historical value as one of the “principal mills remaining from the colonial period in Minas Gerais”. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Cachaca Barao Dourado Amburana

Cachaca Barao Dourado Amburana Cachaca Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCachaca Barao Dourado Amburana. I’ve previously reviewed Cachaca Barao Dourado Amendoim which was a silver or white cachaça. This cachaça has been aged in Amburana wood casks.

I like Cachaca Barao Dourado as they make reviewing their Cachaca’s quite simple and easy. They give you all the information you need on the bottle and the use of the wood types, it is aged in to identify each Cachaca, makes it super simple for me. One of the biggest problems I have had reviewing Cachaca (particularly those samples only available in Brasil) is finding information and information I can translate and understand. I do not speak Portuguese! Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Avua Cachaca Prata

Avua Cachaca Prata Rum Review by the fat rum pirateAvua Cachaca Prata. Avua are a brand/bottler rather than the name of a producer. They have the Cachaca distilled and bottled for them. They have began importing Cachaca into the US and Europe recently.

So this is one of the few cachaça I have been reviewing recently that I have a conventional 70cl/700ml “European” bottle. And I can actually get myself another one should I wish to do so! Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
