Ron Viejo de Caldas 3 Anos. The rum hails from Colombia. It is produced at Industria Licocera de Caldas. As a result of this quite a lot of the information available online is in Spanish. I’ve tried translating things but the free translation tools are pretty naff. So I’ve cobbled together what I could find in English.

A.H Riise
Royal Danish Navy Rum is another take on Navy Rum. This time though the focus is on the Royal Danish Navy. I would be lying if I said I was particularly acquainted with the exploits of the Danish Navy.
A.H Riise was no doubt a high ranking figure in the Danish Navy or some almightly war hero. No he as was actually a pharmacist. His links to rum seem to be that he sold and imported rum from the West Indies to Denmark.
Destilleras Arehucas have been producing rum in the Canary Islands since 1884. So they have over 130 years of rum making experience.
Honey Rum (or Ron Miel) from the Canary Islands is quite famous. It is basically a golden rum blended with honey. The ABV of which is usually around the 20% mark. Making it more of a liqueur than a rum.
Legendario’s Elxir de Cuba is perhaps the most confusing bottle of rum in the world. Which in itself meant I had to get a hold of this Cuban curiosity for a review.
I picked the Legendario up on a visit to Spain, I had been curious about their rums for some time. I was especially curious about this 7 Year Old rum.
Black Magic is a new Spiced rum to the UK market. It is imported from the US by Hi Spirits Ltd and produced in Louisville, Kentucky by Sazerac.
Sazerac are better known for their Rye Whiskey. Which is produced at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, in Frankfort. Where the rum in this blend is distilled I do not know. The website for Black Magic states only that the rum is a blend of young and aged rums.
Saint James Heritage rum. It comes in their standard tall, rectangular bottle. The name suggests some kind of retro rhum agricole, perhaps a throwback to times gone by.
Nope nothing of the sort. The Martinique agricole producers haven’t even released an Agricole this time. It’s actually a blend of rums from 6 different islands. It is a blend of both cane juice and molasses based r(h)ums.
Back in 2013 Angostura announced the launch of No.1. The first in a new collection of limited edition “Premium” rums.
This the “first” Angostura No.1 (yes they have called subsequent releases No.1 as well confusingly) is part of the companies Cask Collection. The collection is a range of Premium Rums aged in select barrels.
