Damoiseau Rhum Vieux Millesime 1995. My Agricole Rhum journey is no where near as advanced as my forays into Molasses based rums. That is re-inforced yet again by the fact I have never reviewed an Agriocle Rhum, from one of Guadeloupe most respected producers Damoiseau. Certainly not under their “official” name anyway.
Cachaca Santa Terezinha Canela Sassafraz. Back on the cachaca today with another review from the Santa Terezinha brand. I previously reviewed their Arte release. Santa Terezinha hails from Espirito Santa and have producing cachaca since 1943.
I covered Santa Terezinha’s production methods in my last review. So I won’t repeat myself. I will however cover the make up of this particular cachaca. I have not come across a cachaca which has been aged in Canela Sassafraz before. Being perfectly honest ,I have little idea what this might be other than some kind of native Brasilian wood or woods. I have come across Sassafras Root before (both in the form of being an ingredient in Root Beer and by way of a Green Day song on the album Dookie). At this stage I am unsure if there is any link. So I best find out.
Worthy Park 2007 12 Year Old Thompson Brothers for TWE. So what do we have hear then? I rather think most of that has been answered by the title of this rum. Back to Jamaica we are going (via Scotland) for another dose of Pot Still goodness from Worthy Park Distillery.
Those in the know have known about the revival of Worthy Park for a while now. Even I reviewed my first Worthy Park way back in 2015. I was also fortunate enough to be granted an interview with Zan Kong around the same time.
Clarkes Court #37 Blend Limited Edition. Released way back in 2010 this rum was produced to celebrate the 37th year of Grenada’s independence. Bit random but I guess it ties in with the distillery being established in 1937?.
Anyway for those not familiar with Clarkes Court they are the number one selling rum brand on Grenada.
Sir Ranulph Fiennes’ Great British Rum. Depending on your age and interests you may be more familiar with actor Ralph Fiennes – Ranulph and Ralph are cousins. Ralph is also a distant cousin of Prince Charles.
Sir Ranulph Fiennes is a World Famous British explorer and holder of several endurance records. For his latest venture he has teamed up with the English Spirit Distillery and Master Distiller Dr John Walters to create a British Rum.
Six Saints Caribbean Rum. Hailing from the island of Grenada via spirits importer Crucial Drinks comes Six Saints Caribbean Rum. I was told some time ago that this rum was the “same” as Clarke Court’s Old Grog Rum. Quite who, when and where was told that I don’t know.
Anyway, although I enjoyed Old Grog back in the day the review dates back to 2014, looking back I do think it had an almost artificial banana flavour added to it. Maybe I should get another sample and do a re-review? We’ll see.
Plantation Barbados Rum Aged 5 Years. This has been a staple and very well known rum for all the time I have 
had an interest in rum. It’s been a good few years and a couple of bottle re-designs since I last bought a bottle.
Late last year I “cracked” and bought another bottle. I was due to go away with a couple of my mates who aren’t really rum drinkers. I figured I would see how the theory that this is a good entry level rum might pan out…..
