Damoiseau Rhum Vieux Millesime 1995

Damoiseau Rhum Vieux Millesime 1995 Rum Review by the fat rum pirateDamoiseau Rhum Vieux Millesime 1995. My Agricole Rhum journey is no where near as advanced as my forays into Molasses based rums. That is re-inforced yet again by the fact I have never reviewed an Agriocle Rhum, from one of Guadeloupe most respected producers Damoiseau. Certainly not under their “official” name anyway. Worthy Park 2007 12 Year Old Thompson Brothers for TWE

Worthy Park 2007 12 Year Old Thompson Brothers for TWEWorthy Park 2007 12 Year Old Thompson Brothers for TWE. So what do we have hear then? I rather think most of that has been answered by the title of this rum. Back to Jamaica we are going (via Scotland) for another dose of Pot Still goodness from Worthy Park Distillery.

Those in the know have known about the revival of Worthy Park for a while now. Even I reviewed my first Worthy Park way back in 2015. I was also fortunate enough to be granted an interview with Zan Kong around the same time. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Rum Exchange Belize 2009

Rum Exchange Belize 2009 Rum Review by the fat rum pirateRum Exchange Belize 2009. For those unfamiliar with Rum Exchange, they were responsible for bottling two Jamaican 5 year old rums last year. Riviere du Mat XO

Riviere du Mat XO Rum Review by the fat rum pirate Riviere du Mat XO. Despite being founded way back in 1886 I have seen very little coverage of the rum/rhum which flies under the Riviere du Mat brand. For a reviewer it can be quite difficult to review numerous rums from the same distillery and come up with something new and interesting to say. However, today I am going to have to do a bit of digging to find out what Riviere du Mat is all about. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Mainbrace Premium Spliced Rum

Mainbrace Premium Spliced Rum review by the fat rum pirateMainbrace Premium Spliced Rum. Look again – read the title again. Don’t make my mistake. All is not as is first seems. Especially when you started drinking at 7am……

I was first introduced to Mainbrace at the Boutique Rum Fest, London in October last year. I say introduced what I mean is that I first completely ignored Mainbrace Rum at Boutique Rum Fest. Why? It’s Spiced Rum innit? Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Leatherback Rum Barrel Strength Special Reserve

Leatherback Rum Barrel Strength Special Reserve Rum review by the fat rum pirateLeatherback Rum Barrel Strength Special Reserve. This rum is produced at North of 7 Distillery. Which is a micro distillery in Ottawa, Canada it is ran by avid rock climbers Greg Lipin and Jody Miall. You may think that is a pretty odd thing to point about someone. However, the reason is they run a rock climbing training gym right across the road from their North of 7 Distillery. They divide their time between the two businesses. Kill Devil Guyana Aged 11 Years – Port Ellen Finish

Kill Devil Guyana Aged 11 Years - Port Ellen Finish Rum Review by the fat rum pirateKill Devil Guyana Aged 11 Years – Port Ellen Finish. In all honesty, looking over my notes I thought I had reviewed more Guyanese rum from Kill Devil, than I actually have. It seems a lot of my Kill Devil reviews have been from Hampden Estate, Jamaica.

Anyway back to Guyana we are. This is another Single Cask and Cask Strength rum from Kill Devil. Kill Devil for those who aren’t in the know is the rum branch of Hunter Laing, who are more famous for their independent whisky bottlings. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
