Sol Tarasco Extra Aged Charanda Hongos. We are diversifying once again. This time our journey into other Sugar Cane derived spirits is taking us to Central America. Charanda is to Mexico what Cachaca is to Brasil. Whilst it is essentially “rum” it has it’s own little nuances, defined by the “terroir” of the spirit.

Berry Bros & Rudd The Classic Range Guatemala. When it comes to rum there is little doubt that over the past 20 years Guatemala has become on of the worlds biggest players.
Global rum brand Diageo, now own Ron Zacapa and other brands such as Ron Botran have made an impact on the UK and European market. Newer entries to the scene such as El Pasador de Oro and Ron Barca are also growing in popularity in mainland Europe.
That Boutique-y Rum Company O Reizinho Distillery Aged 3 Years. This is the second bottling from That Boutique-y Rum Company to hail from the O Reizinho Distillery on the Portuguese Island of Madeira. Which is of course the birthplace of the world famous sporting star Moises Henriques.
Maybe there is someone else a little more famous than him, some footballer or something.
Rivers Royale Grenadian Rum. Rivers is a historic brand of Overproof rum from the Caribbean Island of Grenada. It is not a Grenadine flavoured rum. Definitely not.
It is a rum a lot of Rum Enthusiasts will hear about. It has taken me quite a long time to try this. I finally found a store in the UK/Europe that had it in stock. Many, will hear about this rum but nowhere near as many will ever try Rivers Royale Grenadian Rum.
Novo Fogo Tanager. We have covered the Novo Fogo brand previously, when we reviewed their Barrel Aged Cachaca expression. They are a brand expanding rapidly and alongside the likes of Leblon, Avua and Sagatiba, are looking to push a more stylised version of cachaça into the US and European market.
