24 rums have been selected in miniature form to help us enjoy the countdown to Christmas. No doubt amongst these rums will be one or two you have put on Santa’s list.
The selection is quite eclectic featuring rums new in 2015, older classics and some limited edition rums which are alas, no longer available.
Our latest interview is with Alexander Kong (pictured in the grey jacket, alongside Gordon Clarke Co-Managing Director) who is the Export Sales Manager for the recently resurrected Worthy Park Distillery.
As you will see from the answers in this interview, since their re-birth in 2005 Worthy Park are determined to do things the right way. Their return to rum production after almost 50 years in the wilderness couldn’t have been more timely. Authentic Caribbean rum is becoming more sought after and valued by both casual rum drinkers and in particular with more seasoned rum conisseurs and aficionados.
As it is Halloween today you were probably expecting to see a Pumpkin Face or Deadhead style rum trotted out as this months Rum of the Month.
Thankfully, I don’t really go in for fancily marketed column distilled solero rums. The idea of the site is to give you all informed and knowledgeable suggestions on future rum purchases!

It isn’t. Instead, what it is going to do is run down the ten most annoying, outlandish, poorly researched or just plain lazy Click Bait pieces of so called journalism that have befallen our less than noble spirit over the past few years. Articles which have reeled us all in with promises of hidden gems and new an enticing rum experiences.
Once again we will be taking part in a Twitter Tasting, this time alongside Ian Burrell (Global Rum Ambassador) and David Morrison (Senior Master Blender at Appleton Estate).
The tasting flight includes three rums from the Appleton Estate line up and a cocktail which highlights the versatility of Appleton Estate’s entry level rum – Signature Blend (formerly the V/X).
Matugga Rum are a new UK based rum brand. Whilst the brand is new some of the people involved in this new venture are well known to this site.
English Spirit Distillery headed up by John Walters have been producing their own Small Batch Copper Pot Distilled spirits since 2009 including the likes of English Spirit Vokda, Old J’s Gin and Old Salt Rum which was reviewed on these pages.
