Holmes Cay Single Cask Rum Fiji 2004. Fiji has been on the “rum radar” recently with Plantation Rum releasing the newest addition to their Signature Blends in the shape of the “Isle of Fiji” which I reviewed earlier this month. It has also been revealed that Plantation have an agreement with South Pacific Distillery (the only active distillery on Fiji) to be the exclusive buyer of their rum.

Hampden Great House Distillery Edition. It is always good to see producers such as Hampden putting out their own bottlings of aged rum, rather than selling bulk rum for others to profit from. It seems the distillery has grown in confidence and they now have a commercial bottling of the rum they drink on the estate.
Worthy Park Single Estate 2006 Aged 12 Years. Today we have an official release from the rising stars of Jamaican rum, Worthy Park. This is their longest aged official release to date. It is taken from the second year of the revived production at the distillery.
The rum is WPL (Worthy Park Light) with an ester count between 60-119 gr/hl AA. So it’s not a huge high ester rum. To be fair that’s not what Worthy Park are about. They can leave that to the others. Their rums are very distinctive.
Damoiseau Rhum Vieux Millesime 1995. My Agricole Rhum journey is no where near as advanced as my forays into Molasses based rums. That is re-inforced yet again by the fact I have never reviewed an Agriocle Rhum, from one of Guadeloupe most respected producers Damoiseau. Certainly not under their “official” name anyway.
Chairman’s Reserve Master’s Selection 2006 13 Year Old The Whisky Exchange Exclusive. I first noticed one of these Master’s Selection Chairman’s Reserve rums before Christmas 2019. I think it was exclusive bottling for a Belgian retailer, who’s name now escapes me.
Royal Mile Whiskies had one in stock and then I learnt that The Whisky Exchange were getting their own release, as well. Being a big fan of Chairman’s Reserve and St Lucia Distillers I have been looking forward to trying one of these rums.
Rum of the Year 2019 – Winner. No doubt the brands/producers shortlisted for this most prestigious award have been waiting with baited breath for this announcement. Winning this award must truly be the pinnacle of any rum producers career. After all you get absolutely nothing other than a pat on the back from me. Not even a fancy awards ceremony to ponce around at.
