Elements Eight – Fine Aged Vendome

Elements Eight Vendome Gold Rum Review by the fat rum pirateElements Eight Rum Company was founded back in 2006.  We recently conducted an interview with Carl Stephenson the owner of Elements Eight.  As a result of this we have been able to gain a lot of insight and information on Elements Eights rums.

Early in my own “Rum Journey” my wife bought me a bottle of Elements Eight Gold Rum.  I actually reviewed it a couple of years ago for the site.  As part of a re-branding Elements Eight have opted to rename their Gold Rum to something more distinctive and meaningful.  So it has been re-named Vendome.  I’m re-reviewing this as I’m curious to see if my opinion has changed much.  I’m assured by Carl that the rum is the same now as it was then.  I do know that my taste had changed slightly and my awareness has improved vastly since those days! Hillery & Son Premium Rum Punch

HILLERY & SON rum punch review by the fat rum pirateHillery & Son is an authentic Premium Jamaican Rum Punch. Created from the closely guarded Bryan family recipe.  At least that is what the marketing says anyway!

Upto now the site has focused on rums and spiced rums.  We have featured the occasional liqueur but never any pre-mixed drinks or any of the “rum beers” which have sprung up over the past couple of years. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Elements Eight Barrel Infused Criollo Cacao Rum

Elements Eight Barrel Infused Criiollo Cacao Rum review by the fat rum pirateElements Eight rums are quite visible in the UK marketplace.  Several more upmarket department stores stock the brand and it can be found in many style and cocktail bars.

Presentation wise that’s not really surprising as the tall square, high shouldered bottles are very pleasing on the eye.  They are however less pleasing on the shelves. You will find they are a lot taller than most spirits bottles – which can make them a bit of a pain to store. So it’s probably just as well that they have recently re-launched their rums with new packaging.  They have also decided to drop this offering.
