That Boutique-y Rum Company Issan Rum Thailand. The Issan Distillery is situated in the North of Thailand. They release their own rums under the name of the distillery. I’m pretty sure they don’t have much of a distribution deal in Europe (particularly the UK) because I cannot recall seeing any of their own releases for sale here.

Phraya Deep Matured Gold Rum. This is a rum from Thailand. My previous experiences with Thai rum have been largely underwhelming, with the so-so SangSom and the frankly strange concoction that was Mekhong. Technically Mekhong isn’t really a rum – it is often sold as Thai Whisky. Weird stuff nonetheless no matter what you call it.
Mekhong The Spirit of Thailand. I’m not sure how much translation plays a part in these things but from what I can gather this “rum” (I’ll explain later) is named after the river Mekong which runs through Thailand. Yes I know the spelling isn’t the same. I’m using what is on the bottle though it is often spelt Mekong as well.
I bought this when I decided to order some rums that I would normally completely overlook. I figured that for the time being I’d probably tried enough Bajan and Navy style rums. It was time to expand my horizons and see what else was available.
I figured I would try this Thai rum as it wasn’t too expensive and being from Thailand it definitely wasn’t going to be a Caribbean rum.
