JAH45 18ct Gold Jamaican Rum

JAH45 18ct Gold Jamaican Rum. No this isn’t the same rum, I reviewed earlier this year. That was the JAH45 Dark Jamaican Rum. This is the 18ct Gold variant. Though if I am being entirely honest, when putting the two rums side by side they are of a very similar colour. The label is a different colour though. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Plantation Xaymaca Special Dry

Plantation Xaymaca Special Dry Rum Review by the fat rum piratePlantation Xaymaca Special Dry. Unless you have only very recently gotten into rum or have been living in a cave, Plantation Rums should really need little or no introduction. Headed by Alexandre Gabriel Plantation Rum is a part of Maison Ferrand. They are based in France and a lot of their “double ageing” or secondary maturation takes place in cellars in the Cognac region of France. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Hampden Diamond H 2010 7 Year Old

Velier Hampden H Diamond 2010 Rum Review by the fat rum pirateHampden Diamond H 2010 7 Year Old Velier 70th Anniversary. Quite a mouthful. I have chose to write out the “Diamond” part of the marque rather than as its shown on the bottle as WordPress doesn’t like you using those arrows and it strikes through the rest of the text.

Enough of my publishing difficulties though. Hampden Diamond H 2010 is as mentioned a 7 Year Old rum. It was released to commemorate the 70th Anniversay of Italian Importer and bottler Velier. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Worthy Park Special Cask Release Oloroso

Worthy Park Special Cask Release Oloroso Rum Review by the fat rum pirateWorthy Park Special Cask Release Oloroso. It was around 3 years ago I first tried Worthy Park’s “Rum Bar” range. A gold, white overproof and a Rum Cream. At the time I wanted more. I wanted to try some aged Worthy Park juice.

Due to the lack of, at the time “official” Worthy Park aged releases I found myself at the mercy of the Independent bottler. Fortunately I found some bottlings that were much better than the Bacardi Single Cane effort (which they “dosed”) from the likes of Bristol Classic Rum and Kill Devil to name but a few. Worthy Park Special Cask Release Marsala

Worthy Park Marsala Special Cask Release Rum Review by the fat rum pirateWorthy Park Special Cask Release Marsala. Worthy Park finally got around to releasing some of their more aged stock in the shape of the Single Estate Reserve in late 2017. That rum was book-ended by two Special Cask Releases.

The Worthy Park Special Cask Release Marsala is partnered by a Oloroso finished rum. Both releases were extremely limited – you may still find the odd bottling online if you are lucky. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
