Dead Reckoning Barbados PX. We continue our recent reviews of Independent bottlers with a review from the other side of the world. Today we have a rum from Aussie bottlers Dead Reckoning. I’ve covered quite a few of their releases over the past few years.
The bottling I have in my hands today is a Barbados rum. A mix of Pot and Column distilled rum from……..you guessed it Foursquare Rum Distillery. Without doubt the “hottest” rum distillery around at the moment.
Dead Reckoning Rum The Black Pit. Had I not included “rum” in the title you might have thought I was about to review some kind of low budget/straight to Netflix horror/slasher movie. You can rest easy in that respect. I’m definitely not heading down that route. That said The “Real” Black Pit was indeed a bit of a horror story for anyone who became familiar with it.
Dead Reckoning T.C.B. Another release from Australian Indie bottlers Dead Reckoning. This time we have a Three Continent Blend (T.C.B.) rather than a rum from a single distillery or even rums from the same Continent.
In this particularly bottling we have rums from South America, Asia and Africa. So three different continents. The rums are sourced from Guyana (South America), Vietnam (Asia) and finally South Africa (Africa).
Dead Reckoning Port Broadside. Today we have another review of a rum from Australian Independent bottlers – Dead Reckoning. They have recently expanded distribution into Europe and the US. However, this is Single Cask release for the Australian market only.
This is a blend of rums from three different “secret” distilleries. It should be noted at this point that some Rum Producers have requested that Independents do not use the distillery name on their bottlings.
Dead Reckoning Australia 9 Year Bourbon Cask. We have become quite familiar with the Dead Reckoning line up of rums of the past couple of years. For those who are unacquainted with the bottler they are one of the first Australian Independent bottlers. Certainly one of the first to be exporting to the lucrative EU and US markets.
Dead Reckoning Mhoba – South Africa. We have in the past, reviewed both Dead Reckoning’s offerings and a few of Mhoba’s own wares. Today we are combining the two in a quite youthful independent bottling, which unfortunately for those of us in Europe is an Australia only release. Well, initially it was anyway………..
Dead Reckoning South Pacific 10 Year Muscat Cask. In my previous review I did mention that Dead Reckoning Rum had two releases for Europe. So that is what is up for appraisal today. It’s quite different to the previous release even though it hails from the same distillery.
Dead Reckoning South Pacific 10 Year Muscat Cask is another release from the South Pacific Distillery, Fiji. However unlike the 20 Year Old Bourbon Cask release this is a Pot and Column blend of rums.
