Velier Royal Navy Tiger Shark

Velier Royal Navy Tiger Shark rum review by the fat rum pirateVelier Royal Navy Tiger Shark. The second installment in Velier’s “Velier Royal Navy” series of rums. I was first introducted to this in October at London Rumfest, at a Velier seminar.

Obviously there isn’t actually a Velier Royal Navy but Velier do have excellent stocks of tropically aged rum from all the traditional Navy Rum producing islands. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Velier National Rums of Jamaica Ltd Long Pond TECC 2007

Velier National Rums of Jamaica 2007 TECC rum review by the fat rum pirateVelier National Rums of Jamaica Ltd Long Pond TECC 2007. I’ve got all four of these Jamaican Rums to review, from the series issued last year by Velier. I am starting with this bottling because it is the youngest. So we’ll do them in “age order” and see how we get on.

These rums were undoubtedly another highlight of 2018, along with the official Hampden releases and yet more excellent Jamaican rum from the likes of Worthy Park and Appleton Estate. 2018 was a very good year for Jamaican rum. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

El Dorado Rare Collection Skeldon 2000

El Dorado Rare Collection Skeldon 2000El Dorado Rare Collection Skeldon 2000. The only rums I have seen in my rum “career” that denote Skeldon are the Velier 1973 and 1978 releases. Which are long gone except for those with very deep pockets. As any rum blogger will attest researching Demerara Rums is on the most complicated and time-consuming pursuits. Excellent work by the likes of Marco Freyr of Barrel Aged Mind have helped with this. I will once again recommend reading his huge article on The Demerara Distillieries. It was one of the earlier Velier bottlings originally released back in 2005. Long before I had become serious about rum. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Rhum Rhum Liberation 2015 Version Integrale

Rhum Rhum iRhum Rhum Liberation 2015 Version Integrale rum review by the fat rum pirates a rum “brand” we have covered before.  Rhum Rhum Liberation 2015 Version Integrale is a variation on  the 2012 iteration of this rhum.

I am using the term rhum (don’t be surprised if I lapse back into rum during the review) as this is another bottling from a French Speaking Caribbean island. Rum from cane juice rather than molasses. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
