Ron Montero Gran Reserva Rum Review by the fat rum irateRon Montero is a rum producer from Motril, Spain. Ron Montero Gran Reserva is the premium end of their regular line up of rums.  They also released a “Super Premium” rum to celebrate 50 years of rum making the “Ron Francisco Montero”.

In 1963 the Ron Montero distillery was founded by the Montero-Martin family.  The family had been cultivating sugar cane for three generations. Finally the owner Don Francisco Montero-Martin decided to produce rum. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Arehucas Carta Oro – Golden Rum

Arehucas Carta Oro Rum Review by the fat rum pirateDestilleras Arehucas have been producing rum in the Canary Islands since 1884.  So they have over 130 years of rum making experience.

Honey Rum (or Ron Miel) from the Canary Islands is quite famous.  It is basically a golden rum blended with honey.  The ABV of which is usually around the 20% mark.  Making it more of a liqueur than a rum. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Ron Barceló Anejo

Ron Barcelo Anejo rum review by the fat rum pirateBarceló are one of the “big three” Dominican rum producers along with Bermudez and Brugal.

El Ron Prohibido

El Ron Prohibido Habanero review by the fat rum pirateEl Ron Prohibido or Ron Habanero.  I’m really not quite sure quite how to introduce this rum.  The front of the bottle is written mostly in Spanish so that doesn’t really help.  The back of the bottle gives more clues as its all in English – Ron Prohibido is the registered Trade Mark on the back so I’ll go with that.
