Kane’s Golden Rum

Kane's Golden Rum Review by the fat rum pirateKane’s Golden Rum. Every so often I’ll walk into one of the Supermarkets and find a new expression of rum. More often than not I am already familiar with the brand. Supermarkets in the UK have been greatly expanding their rum selections, over the past 3 to 4 years. On occasion though, I come across a bottling which I have never seen or heard of before. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

R.L. Seale’s Finest Barbados Rum (Export Proof 46%)

RL Seales 10 Year Old Rum Review by the fat rum pirateR.L. Seale’s Finest Barbados Rum.  Perhaps the most iconic and historically the most recognised product from the Foursquare Distillery.  Especially amongst its longer aged rums.

This rum is aged for 8 years and is the oldest rum Sainsbury’s currently stocks, excluding the 1919.  It’s almost as if Angostura have introduced a direct competitor to the store.  Which does seem a bit strange. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

VAT 19 Golden Rum

Vat 19 Golden Rum Trinidad ReviewThe wonders of the internet and high street phenomenon Black Friday led me to finally putting a bottle of VAT 19 into my shopping basket.  UK based online retailer  http://www.drinksupermarket.com had 20% off everything on sale.  Drink Supermarket tend to stock less higher end products than most online booze merchants.  So I was able to pick up a good few entry and lower level rums.  They seem to focus on rum’s they can actually sell…….I’ve had a good few rums with a lot of dust on them from other retailers!
