Ron Varadero Anejo 7 Anos

Ron Varadero aged 7 years rum review by the fat rum pirateRon Varadero is a Cuban rum brand which is extremely popular in Spain.  They have a number of different expressions.  Mostly at the younger end of the scale.

This is one of their two more premium rums. They also have a 15 year old rum in the range.  As mentioned Ron Varadero is popular in Spain where, despite its age is often taken with cola.

Berrys’ Panama Rum Aged 11 Years

Berrys Panama Rum Aged 11 Years review by the fat rum pirateAnother independent release from Berrys’ Bros and Rudd.  This time they have bottled a Latin style rum from Panama.

Perhaps the best known rum brand from Panama is Ron Abuelo.  Until recently you could argue that one of Don Pancho’s many blends – Ron de Jeremy Reserva was better known/ more infamous.  That rum is no longer from Panama – it is now a Caribbean blend.

The Cuban rum distilleries came into existence in the middle of the 19th century. One of the largest distilleries is located in Santiago de Cuba.  The secrets of producing rum are passed on from generation to generation through the “Maestros Roneros”.

Ron Cubay 10 Year Reserva Especial rum review by the fat rum pirateRon Cubay in case anyone is any doubt, is a rum from Cuba.  Cuban rum has become even hotter property recently as news that the US of A will soon be getting stocks of what, until very recently has been forbidden fruit for our friends over the pond.

Forget about the pointless rangling over the Havana Club brand by Havana Club and Bacardi International, as here we have one of the more domesticated Cuban rums.
