Avua Cachaca Prata Rum Review by the fat rum pirateAvua Cachaca Prata. Avua are a brand/bottler rather than the name of a producer. They have the Cachaca distilled and bottled for them. They have began importing Cachaca into the US and Europe recently.

Information on this brand has been hard to come by. It appears that this cachaça the Special Reserve is their premium offering. Their other Cachaca’s are presented with differing bottles and logo’s. In the laboratory class of a biochemical engineering class he was given his first opportunity to produce Cachaca. They produce cachaca under the brand names such as of Famosinha de Minas, Santuario de Minas, Dona Branca, and Buriti.

Weber Haus Cachaca Premium Black Rum Review by the fat rum pirateWeber Haus Cachaca Premium Black Aged 3 Years. Weber Haus are one of the largest and most celebrated Cachaça producers in Brasil. To date, they have over 100 national and international awards. Products from the H.Weber distillery are available in 19 countries.

One of the reasons I first began exploring Cachaça was due to a chance meeting with Leszek Wedzicha, who was working at Bristol Rum Festival last summer. Leszek was promoting the Weber Haus line up of Cachaça. I was very impressed. Prior to this I had not tried any aged Cachaça. I have stayed in contact with Leszek ever since. Earlier this year I attended the Manchester Cachaça festival and tried a great many more Cachaça’s. Tellura Prata

Tellura Prata Cachaca Rum Review by the fat rum pirateTellura Prata. Tellura is a recent addition to the Cachaca producing family in Brasil. Formed in 2015 Tellura with the aim to produce quality, handmade and sustainable Cachaca.

Cachaca has been produced at Abadia Farm, Campos dos Gotacazes in the north of the state of Rio de Janeiro for over 100 years. Tellingly Tellura is located strategically just 48km to Port do Acu so it is already, geared to export outside of Brasil. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Cachaca Santa Terezinha Arte

Cachaca Santa Terezinha Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCachaca Santa Terezinha has been produced in Marechal Floriano, Espirito Santo since 1943. It is a young white Cachaca with minimal ageing. The brand work with Brasillian artists to create their distinctive labelling and packaging.

It is aged in Cerejeira casks, for 6 months. Cerejeira is a wood Native to Brasil. Which gives the Cachaca its distinictive character.To produce Santa Terezinha a 50/50 mix of boiled sugar-cane “broth” and cold broth is fermented for 4 to 5 days with toasted bagasse and a handful of corn-flour.
