Dràm Mòr Single Cask Rum Foursquare Distillery Aged 13 Years

Dràm Mòr Single Cask Rum Foursquare Distillery Aged 13 Years rum review by the fat rum pirateDràm Mòr Single Cask Rum Foursquare Distillery Aged 13 Years. The success of the Foursquare Distillery is ongoing. Bottles in the Exceptional Cask Series are now being available only via a ballot at some of the bigger UK retailers. To be honest the very idea of a ballot, whereby you enter a raffle to actually spend your own money is pretty mind boggling in the rum world. However, it has been fairly common place for some time in the world of Scotch Whisky. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Cockspur XO Master’s Select

Cockspur XO Master's Select Rum review by the fat rum pirateCockspur XO Master’s Select. Up until a couple of years ago, you would have been lucky to find a range of Cockspur branded rum in the UK. Aside from the gold Cockspur Fine Rum. Which was available quite readily in a couple of major supermarkets.

Before this the VSOR and/or 12 was quite readily available but this dried up considerably over the past 5 or so years. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Foursquare Rum Distillery Détente

Foursquare Rum Distillery Détente by the fat rum pirateFoursquare Rum Distillery Détente. As you will all know Détente is French and is used to refer to a relaxation of strained relations, through verbal communication. Well that’s what Wikipedia says anyway………

It is often used when referencing relationships between the USSR and the West during the Cold War. The Real McCoy Aged 14 Years Limited Edition

The Real McCoy Aged 14 Years Limited Edition Rum review by the fat rum pirate The Real McCoy Aged 14 Years Limited Edition. Mount Gay Black Barrel Double Cask Blend

Mount Gay Black Barrel Double Cask Blend rum review by the fat rum pirateMount Gay Black Barrel Double Cask Blend. Until pretty recent times Mount Gay were a bit of a one trick pony. They have and likely always will make their money selling truckloads of their “entry level” Eclipse rums. In particular the “Gold” variant of Eclipse as the “White” or “Silver” can be quite tricky to find here in the UK. By tricky I mean pretty much impossible. I have only ever seen it for sale once in the EU and I bought (a rather overpriced) bottle as soon as I saw it. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Cockspur Old Gold Special Reserve Rum

Cockspur Old Special Reserve RumCockspur Old Gold Special Reserve Rum. I always think of the cricket, when I see Cockspur. Which is strange, because aside from being a mean left handed fast bowler in my youth, my adversity to having small hard things thrown at me at speeds of up to 60mph, largely diminished my interest in the game. The Real McCoy Aged 5 Years

The Real McCoy Aged 5 Years Rum review by the fat rum pirateThe Real McCoy Aged 5 Years. The Real McCoy is a rum brand with one of the few “honest” back stories. Indeed the commonly used term “The Real McCoy” was coined from the legendary rum runner Bill McCoy. Who smuggled rum into the US during the prohibition era. He never adulterated his product and as a result people began asking for “The Real McCoy” as a sign of a quality spirit. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
