Cachaca Santo Grau Itirapua

Cachaca Santo Grau Itirapua Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCachaca Santo Grau Itirapua. The Santo Grau brand brings together 3 different sugar mills/distilleries for its range of artisanal cachaca. The cachaca I am reviewing today is one the three signature bottlings from each of those distilleries.

It is also closely related to the previous Santo Grau cachaca I reviewed as it comes from the same small distillery in Sao Paulo state Itirapua. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

The Real McCoy Aged 5 Years

The Real McCoy Aged 5 Years Rum review by the fat rum pirateThe Real McCoy Aged 5 Years. The Real McCoy is a rum brand with one of the few “honest” back stories. Indeed the commonly used term “The Real McCoy” was coined from the legendary rum runner Bill McCoy. Who smuggled rum into the US during the prohibition era. He never adulterated his product and as a result people began asking for “The Real McCoy” as a sign of a quality spirit. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

The Antigua Distillery Heavy Traditional Rum

The Antigua Distillery Heavy Traditional Rum review by the fat rum pirateThe Antigua Distillery Heavy Traditional Rum. This one is filed under “should have reviewed a lot earlier”. You’ll struggle to find a bottle of this on the primary market. More likely to find a bottle or two at auction or another part of the secondary market.

Quite why I didn’t review it, I’m not so sure I just never got around to it. Distracted by other offerings. A number of other reviewers did review it though and it caused a bit of a fuss as a lot of people seemed to really like it. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Mhoba Pot Stilled White Rum

Mhoba White Potstilled Rum review by the fat rum pirateMhoba Pot Stilled White Rum. I first came across Mhoba Rum at London Rumfest a few years ago. 2017?

At the beginning there was a bit skepticism surrounding the brand. They had pretty much rocked over from South Africa. Hardly a hot bed of rum and had a big-ish selection. Not just one or two expressions of Pure Single Sugarcane Rum, as they called it. Okay, they had 4 expressions but it seemed a lot more at the time……. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
