Doorly’s Aged 3 Years Fine Old Barbados Rum

Doorly's Aged 3 Years Fine Old Barbados Rum review by the fat rum pirateDoorly’s Aged 3 Years Fine Old Barbados Rum. The Doorly’s line up should need no introduction to most of you. I’ve reviewed all of their line up that I have been able to get my hands on. I’ve failed thus far to get the Sweden(?) only 6-year-old.

In all honesty I thought I had reviewed this long ago. A quick look revealed that I had completed the tasting notes but had never got around to writing and publishing the rest. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Cachaca Tabua Flor de Ouro

Cachaca Tabua Flor de Ouro Rum Review by the fat rum pirateCachaca Tabua Flor de Ouro. Roughly this Cachaca translates to Gold or Golden Flower from the Portuguese. This is popular and well-respected Cachaca in its native Brasil.

It is available in a few bottle sizes most commonly a 700ml bottle will set you back around R$32 or approximately £8 in UK Sterling. As you can see from the photo Cachaca Tabua Flor de Ouro comes in a tall bar style bottle with a short neck and a metallic screw cap. The presentation isn’t as modern and slick as brands aimed at the European market such as Leblon and Yaguara but it is a bit more modern than some of the Cachaca’s available. Clairin World Championship 2017

Clairin World Championship 2017 Rum Review by the fat rum pirateClairin World Championship 2017. Importer and bottler Velier have created a bit of a stir over the past few years with a “new” type of rum (or should that be rhum?) called Clairin.

Hailing from Haiti Clairin is a spirit which has a lot in common with both Cachaca and Rhum Agricole. It is arguably even more “rustic” in its production than both those cane spirits. It is produced by almost “one man band” style micro distilleries on very small creole stills. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating
