A.H Riise Royal Danish Navy Rum

A.H Riise A.H Riise Royal Danish Navy Rum review by the fat rum pirateRoyal Danish Navy Rum is another take on Navy Rum.  This time though the focus is on the Royal Danish Navy.  I would be lying if I said I was particularly acquainted with the exploits of the Danish Navy.

A.H Riise was no doubt a high ranking figure in the Danish Navy or some almightly war hero.  No he as was actually a pharmacist.  His links to rum seem to be that he sold and imported rum from the West Indies to Denmark. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Arehucas Carta Oro – Golden Rum

Arehucas Carta Oro Rum Review by the fat rum pirateDestilleras Arehucas have been producing rum in the Canary Islands since 1884.  So they have over 130 years of rum making experience.

Legendario Elixir de Cuba

Legendario Elixir de Cuba Rum review by the fat rum pirateLegendario’s Elxir de Cuba is perhaps the most confusing bottle of rum in the world.  Which in itself meant I had to get a hold of this Cuban curiosity for a review.

Saint James Heritage

Saint James Heritage rum Review by the fat rum pirateSaint James Heritage rum.  It comes in their standard tall, rectangular bottle.  The name suggests some kind of retro rhum agricole, perhaps a throwback to times gone by.

Nope nothing of the sort.  The Martinique agricole producers haven’t even released an Agricole this time.  It’s actually a blend of rums from 6 different islands. It is a blend of both cane juice and molasses based r(h)ums. Read more to see the fatrumpirate rating

Angostura No.1 First Edition

Iceberg Gold Rum

imageIceberg is a rum which hails from Canada.  Well the brand does anyway, unsurprisingly the actual rum in the bottle is not Canadian.

It is in fact a Demerara rum which is blended with “12,000 year old Iceberg water”.  Yeah okay anything you say!  It is bottled by the Canadian Iceberg Vodka Company.  It has made its way into my home here in the UK via Vikingstad in Norway where AST import it from Canada.
